Another L5R character sketch; this time my own character, a former Scorpion clan ronin. The character itself is a scanned ink drawing, whereas the background was almost entirely hand - or rather mouse - painted. He’s turned out a bit grim, especially considering that he’s a rather friendly and sensitive person.

That's some of the best hand/mouse painted fire I've ever seen! Holy Snostrebla! I wish I had the patience to do that! Oh and the guy in the forefront is awesome too!

The flames and armor are the best i've ever seen!!!! However for some reason I don't like the face.

You have captured the aura of the scorpion well, my friend. Incredible hardness to his face. Have you sent this to WOTC yet? You could probably get your own card.

Keven: Hehh, in fact I adpated some of the PC sketches to cards, but while I was at it, the L5R card game quietly ceased to be played around here... So right now I'm stranded with uhhh, three coloured images and a couple of b/w ones in the back of those nifty character booklets.

Good picture once again, but like the other protrait of the L5R guy (the Crab Clan I think?) his right arm seems to be someone elses..At that angle his forarm wouldn't be parallel to his upper arm. That honestly seems to be the only thing wrong..Perhaps something that might help is if you drew the whole arm, at least an outline of it, and then cropped it...you got the angle perfect on his left arm, it just seems to be when the elbow is out of the image. OVerall wonderful job again.

I wouldn't whant to be the man that pissed him off. This seems to be something that was, say, taken right in the middle of a heated conflict. You can see the strain in his eyes and his hunger for the win. Even nice guys get mad as hell sometimes and just have to kick some ass.

The only thing i wonder is how you made a picture so well detailed.. Nice katana btw and the guy is quite nice looking.

I like the close angle on this picture, it makes a good change to the full figures I usually see. It looks like a storyboard sketch for a movie - a captured fragment of time before the battle burns onward.
