An attempt at painting on a computer mainly using the airbrush tool (and a mouse as input tool – it’s hell on your index finger...). It's supposed to be a volcanic pit; similar to the Crack of Doom in everyone's favourite fantasy epic. Looked pretty funky after I gave the image an orange hue (a blue one gives you an ice cave...).

I can't believe there aren't any comments here! Wow...*blinks and drools* I'd kill to be able to do THIS with a mouse and airbrush tool. (That's what I have to use too...I know about the pain to can cause...) This is way off the "spiffy" meter...Love the colors...and I'm not that fond of orange hues. (unless they're on Tennessee Vols football players...*grin*...)

I don't know if you saw the japanese animated movies of the Hobbit, or Lord of the Rings, but this reminds me of them. I was deeply influenced by the artistic style in those movies. I thought they were great interpretations of the books, as is this picture.

Christopher: Frankly no; I haven't seen them - I didn't even have the slightest notion that japanese adaptations of Tolkien's books existed. I'm not too much of an anime fan any more, but that idea is intriguing at any rate...

Your picture made me immediately think of Mount Doom in The Return of the King when Frodo was fighting Gollum for the Ring. Yours is an exellent pit of doom.

Do I see the silueta of a man? Oh, sorry, not a Queen song. Seriosly though, the flames? walls? whatever in the background seem to me to have a face hidden in them. Most likely just my over-active imagination kicking into action at the wrong time again. I think this would be cool if you did some blue highlighting towards the base of the flames, 'cause ya know thats how normal flames look, don't ya? Rather than the whole pic bein' blue the highlights would add a sense of realism to the pic, just thought that might help.
