He looks almost real, but the sword doesn't. Do you understand what I'm trying to say? Probably not. Sorry. I love his sleeves too!Hm, yeah, looking at it closely, I see what you mean. The sword doesn't somehow look as 'heavy' as it should. Oddly enough, details like this often turn up after the inking; the basic pencil sketch looked pretty much alright to me (grrr).

| 4 Jun 2001 | Rupert D. | Loading...Well I have to say you must have studied the 16th century alot because you have captured it well. The slash and poof sleeves are period of that time in mostly central and northern Europe and the hat is right too and it is great to see him carrying a Great Sword like that because most mercenary soldiers of the time were auxillery troops who carried pole arms and Great weapons. You did a fantastic Job | |

Still a humble amateur. And at the speed I'm currently working at, I'd probably be starved to death by now... (emits self-pitying whine)

| 27 Dec 2002 | Jack morgan | Loading...The guard of the "gassenhauer" twohanded sword rest on his breast, not the blade on his shoulder. That´s the reason the sword seams to be floating or being weightless. like your others : absolute fantastic work ! | |

He reminds me of exactly the sort of mercenary I've created on ElfTown, old and weather-beaten whilst still holding a sense of pride about him; at least that's the impression I get. I've been looking at this picture since 2003, I have no idea why I never commented it back then. Even if you never actually read this, bravo, I love it.
