Tag As FavoriteComment		She lay there sprawled out, one hand clutching the sword that had stuck itself in her stomach.  Tears cut through the grime on her face, the agony flashing in and out of her eyes.  She whimpered and cried.  Blue Jayne looked up at the sky, her breath shallow and halting.  The end was coming.  "God?"  She whispered the Lord's name, hoping to finally hear something.  He had to help her now.  After all she had done for him, He would fill her with his glory, and she would rise again.

"God?"  Nothing.  No answer.  no glory.  No light.  Nothing but a creeping cold.  She tried again to pull the sword out, but her strength was gone.  "God," she croaked.  The word barely escaped from her cracked lips.  Tears pulsed from her eyes, and disappeared into the grey earth under her. 

The light of the afternoon sky started to disappear.  Her god wasn't coming.  With the last of her strength, she managed one last word. 

"Mom?"

She died there, on the field of battle, a sword stuck in her gut. Blue Jayne cried for a mother who never came.

LOvely drawing, though don't understand the relationship with the description. It is very beautiful.

I think the girl in the drawing is the one who dies in the story. I guess she is friends with the bear?
