((Yay! Thanks. I need to get my tickets to Cape Cod! I’m not very good at taking pictures... but I’ll be sure to describe it to you. Have you been that way?))((nope, never been ))

((I miss the ocean. I just got hiking boots, though, and a friend to hike with so I hope to get out in the beauty more. And the ocean in March! It is good^_^ The mountains were gorgeous this morning here.))
((sorry I went quiet. being going through a non communicative spell...))

((It’s ok, I’ve been quiet too. *snugs* Have you gotten more sleep this week? Stress seems to be going around. ))
((yup, I’ve finally caught up on sleep. I’m taking next Friday off and am looking forward to it. *snugs* Sorry I have been quiet on here. I’m trying to pull myself out of my quiet phase. Yet again ^_^))
Keenan: *finally holds his breath and helps Kelron put the cookies in the oven*
Now we wait a bit. You hungry?
Kelron: [a/bemused at the extreme sensitivity to scents] Can you be ... incapacitated by an attack of scents? and no, thank you. I am not yet hungry.

((C’est la vie. ^_^ *hugs* congratulations on the promotion!))((thanks, doll! It’s been great my new co-workers are wonderful and the shorter commute is GREAT. I do miss seeing my other co-workers/students on a more regular basis, but I’ll still see them time to time.))
Keenan: yes, I can. I’ve been trained to push through the pain, but there are physical responses to smell that I can’t repress. If I have warning, I can hold my breath, but if I don’t then I can be incapacitated or at least seriously handicapped. Kelron: Good to know. *winks*

Keenan: *in all seriousness* yes, it is good to know.
*breaks the seriousness* do centaurs do much cooking?
Kelron: Nothing more than what can be cooked over an open fire with as few utensils as possible.

((I hope to see Leigh in a month. She’s going to try to come to martial art camp in WestVirginia with me ^_^))
Keenan: that means "yes." Tell me about a few dishes while we wait.
Kelron: *chuckles* Deer meat. Stick it over the flames. Eat it. Rabbit. Stick it over the flames. Eat it. Bird. Stick it over the flames. Eat it.

((alas, it didn’t work out, but camp was still fun.
Whew I’ve been gone from here for awhile...))
Keenan: ah... in other words you don’t pay attention. Every civilized species, and yours is civilized, has recipes.
[shrugs] Perhaps. But we’re always on the move, and we don’t carry many supplies with us.

((Yep, but the trees are still growing. *hugs* ))
Keenan: All the more reason to have innovative ways of making food! Some of the most interesting recipes come from nomadic groups.
Kelron: Do you know some of these recipes?
|20 Nov 2013|| A. Setliffe|
((Trees, still growing in the shard and grove.))((gotcha ))
Keenan: of course. Many of the ones I grew up with were vestiges of my nomadic ancestors. Kelron: Did they travel with wagons or carts? pack animals?

Keenan: I know they used horses and had moveable houses of wood and hide. A lot of that history was lost, though, as it came before we learned to write.
