This is my favorite of all your pieces (although they're all very good). The armour...the battle-axe...it all fits together perfectly. Nice job on the shading too. He's one bad-looking moe-foe. I'd hate to run into him in a dark alley. Nicely done! Yves Branitar Maurischat replies: "Thank you! I had much fun drawing it although it took even longer than the dwarf *g* "

I love his armor, and, of course, his axe (I so want one like that XD) The shading is also very good, I mean, because the light comes from behind him, if you know what I mean -_-; Also love the perspective, and he looks very attractive (it's the armor.. XD let's just hope he has a good looking face underneath that helmet...) Keep up the great work!! Love your gallery ^-^ Yves Branitar Maurischat replies: "Actually there are two light sources: one on the right side and slightly moved to the viewer, and one on the left side, slightly moved to the back. Thats also a reason, why there is no background. I couldn't think of a background that provides the right lightsources *g*
Oh, he is dark elf, so he shouldn't be too ugly... Although he lately got that glow in his eyes... hmm...
Many thanks, I am really glad that you like it! "

Could be my kind of man. ;O) And what´s even more interesting is that you decided one day not far from today to do some arts and did it quite well! Graphic tablets and coloring pictures is something I don´t have the slightest clue of unfortunately... Yves Branitar Maurischat replies: "It was indeed a very spontaneous decision. I hadn't drawn since I left school (10 years ago), so imagine my surprise when I actually produced something that was not completely crappy. But that's one of the advantages of a graphics tablet: you can erase and redraw stuff as often as you like. And the layer support of modern graphics software was also of great help. "

I have a project that may interest you. Yves Branitar Maurischat replies: "Thanks No, i've never considered designing characters for games, mainly because between my work and my private software projects there's barely some time left for drawing. Every pic takes weeks because of that, so I usually only draw stuff that I really want to draw, no matter how long it will take. Oh, and I think, your stuff is much better than mine... "
| 13 Sep 2006 | Jen Bamford | Loading...I love your character work, it's all so clean and professional looking! I think this one and the dwarf are my favourites out of your gallery =) The lighting is what really does it for me on this one, nicely done! Yves Branitar Maurischat replies: "Thank you! First I thought that it looked too artificial, as if it was made with a 3D program, but it grew on me and I decided against changing it " | |
| 27 Oct 2006 | Henrik Edin | Loading...Simple and still very good. I love the pose + boots. Yves Branitar Maurischat replies: "Thank you! The pose is supposed to support the impression of a dark and evil guy that just waits for you to make a wrong movement The boots were a just a fortunate idea, as i needed something pointy that still didn't look too heavy and chunky.
