No story, unless you have one for yourself. Experimenting with the pose and the pencil.

Mweh! Smacks you in the face with feeling, it does. The soft, smoky style really makes the image. Phwee.. @_@ You've gotten so good...

:-) Bree Patton replies: "|Thank you, Erin! I do try. XD|"

Thought is heavier than stone, heavier than an ocean. It sits between your shoulders, pushing your face to the earth...
contemplation of beauty, death and rain.

:-) Bree Patton replies: "|Your comments are so lovely and poetic! I'm tempted to use then as descriptions for my pictures. =D Thank you very much, Amy!|"

Oh my....this is so beautiful! I think it holds more beauty than the CG'ed pics that get Mod's Choice all the time- this is so emotional and sad... Great job!

:-) Bree Patton replies: "|Wow...thank you so much! It does seem to be a favorite of nearly everyone who sees it. =)~|"

I'd have to say this is my favorite picture out of all them I've seen on Elfwood. One of my favorite things to draw is people with wings, angels I guess, but it always seems they're portrayed as happy and prancing about in the sky or whatever.. the idea of a troubled one is definitely something I'm fond of.. gotta break the mold once in a while.. buuut in short.. I love the sketch!

:-) Bree Patton replies: "|Thank you! Yes, well, I suppose he/she is troubled (When I was drawing it, it was actually supposed to be a she, but I don't think that really matters), although I have no idea why.|"

I think his love has died and gone to Hell...and he is lonely in Heaven. He would rather suffer a thousand deaths with her than with out her. Yeah....or not. What do you think?

:-) Bree Patton replies: "|Hmm. Perhaps. Although I believe that Hell is just being expelled or absent from the presence of God. When people choose not to follow and love God, or decide that they don't want to be with Him, the kindest thing He could possibly do is to let them be in a place where he is not. Sorry, random tangeant. *Laughter* But I think he would much rather HER be in Heaven with him, then vice versa. 12|"

He looks so very sad..... 8 Like he broke his wing and can't find his way home...It's a very nice sketch, and the pose is amazing, I like it! ^_^

:-) Bree Patton replies: "|Thanks! Makes me think of a song by Martina McBride. *Breaks into song* "And with a broken wing, she still sings, she keeps her eye on the sky. With a broken wing, she carries her dream, and you'll never see her cry."|"

Sadness, fear, pain and all together with the outlines of the pencil make this pic a reflection of a little that anguish that all we have in our heart and not always we know how leaving goes outside... Impressive, of course
