(even if it's a small calibur it does not mean much if its traveling a "eleventy-billion" feet per second.

Vertical foregrips are prone to snaring, part of why they aren't so common. The version without the vertical foregrip appears to have no foregrip at all, which is a mistake. If you're firing a rifle rouns, though the design seems more in between, you're going to want the additional support of your offhand.
Also, what looks like the charging handle shouldn't be that far back on the rifle. It's awkward to be performing that kind of action in that position. I'd move it forward, closer to the optics for ease of operation. The other angle on that is if you somehow get a jam, you won't have to move your hand as much to clear the chamber.
Of course, this is just my visual run of it, I may be mistaken entirely as to what some of this is.

Great idea, this is probably the best concept for any furture gun I have seen yet. I assume the HE ammo is airburst, otherwise a soldier who doesn't clean his grenade barrel is going to be in a world of **** (sorry for the censored offensive language) because even a millimeter off trajectory would send it straight into the sound suppresor in version II, just as an idea to maybe increase the space between them. One more comment is that a caseless cartridge for the grenades is slightly strange because the extreme heat might damage the impact/airburst grenade chip, but then again its the future so the chip would probably be more heat resistant. PS: You should make some blueprints of gun designs and submit them to Heckler&Koch industries, they might just use some of it. PPs: If you ever send them in make shure you place a copyright with a date on it on the prints.
