The M2 Caseless Individual Combat Weapon and M12 Caseless Carbine were adpoted by the Department of Defense as the standard combat arms in 2032, due to almost two decades of shortcomings from the M29 OICW. The M2 CICW is the standard infantry weapon and incorporates both a 5x36mm selectable-fire Kinetic Energy system and a 16mm semi-automatic idirect fire (grenade)/shotgun system--both systems fire caseless ammunition. The M12 is simply the Kinetic Energy part of the M2 and was designed for instances where the added 16mm system would rarely or never be employed and could be a burden to the soldier carrying it--e.g. vehicle and aircraft crews and pilots, security guards, military police, ect. Both weapons can be fitted with the same optics, though the SRO Optic does not have the Mil-Dot Crosshair or Indirect fire reticle and thus cannot be used--at least effectively--with Grenades. The sight can, however, be used adequately with 16mm buckshot and other high-powered, kinetic energy rounds. The M2 and the M12 can be fitted with a sound supressor and vertical foregrip, and are available in black, woodland, desert, and winter color schemes.

funny how they already had a caseless rifle (H&K G11) that was combat ready and proven usefull, but ended up canceling production. as stated before very sweet. (even if it's a small calibur it does not mean much if its traveling a "eleventy-billion" feet per second.

Lesse, from a strict accuracy standpoint, there are a couple small problems with the design.

Vertical foregrips are prone to snaring, part of why they aren't so common. The version without the vertical foregrip appears to have no foregrip at all, which is a mistake. If you're firing a rifle rouns, though the design seems more in between, you're going to want the additional support of your offhand.

Also, what looks like the charging handle shouldn't be that far back on the rifle. It's awkward to be performing that kind of action in that position. I'd move it forward, closer to the optics for ease of operation. The other angle on that is if you somehow get a jam, you won't have to move your hand as much to clear the chamber.

Of course, this is just my visual run of it, I may be mistaken entirely as to what some of this is.

I love this picture and the detail about the bullets and target reticles, I suppose this gun has the basic form of the fnp90 in rifle format with the OICW idea. Great idea, this is probably the best concept for any furture gun I have seen yet. I assume the HE ammo is airburst, otherwise a soldier who doesn't clean his grenade barrel is going to be in a world of **** (sorry for the censored offensive language) because even a millimeter off trajectory would send it straight into the sound suppresor in version II, just as an idea to maybe increase the space between them. One more comment is that a caseless cartridge for the grenades is slightly strange because the extreme heat might damage the impact/airburst grenade chip, but then again its the future so the chip would probably be more heat resistant.
PS: You should make some blueprints of gun designs and submit them to Heckler&Koch industries, they might just use some of it.
PPs: If you ever send them in make shure you place a copyright with a date on it on the prints.

Just a small note on Jay's comment. The lateral magazine feeds through a rotational system at the back, straight into the feeding mechanism at the bolt. The barrel, therefore starts at the bulge in the magazine, I say that's plenty long.

looks kinda like a F2000

this is a bullpup design... Any weapon with the chamber feed behind the trigger is a bullpup design.
