It is one of my favourite artwork in the woods
ps: I had perpared a text a bit longer but it was erase by elfwood cause it had "the word that here I replace by "parts" ", and then my access to comment artworks has been banned a while. i was talking of the evil and good parts of your drawing, but now i,m very disappointed cause i can't remember my text and it was beautiful
be sure that i love this artwork.I'm glad that it moved you so much, and I'm sorry that your original text didn't survive the language filter. | |
| 17 Oct 2003 | USC_Raven | Loading......Arch Angels are above my favorite. This above most. Sword in hand; refers to the presence of a foe or the need to defend a friend our cause. Sometimes, in order to defend we must sacrifice. This is commonly found in battle. Which is why I admire Arch Angels and this picture sacrifice is rarely a beautiful thing. as has this angel looks down a shadow casts upon his face and his feet fade into the darkness, to me a sacrifice has been made, and he is either in sorrow that he cannot continue. Or he is thinking "I have done what I must do, My cause will not be in vain...I pass with no regrets."Could be any or all of the above, this piece is really open to interpretation. Thanks for stopping by. | |
| 5 Jan 2004 | Willie from the vanquished realm of Ino, Alabama | Loading...I lit upon this figure of an avenging angel that I knew by my upbringing in the Pentecostal religion of the South, while I googled for the poem, "High Flight". It fits perfectly into the fears of a child threatened with hellfire and damnation by preachers who dwell on the edge of reality and fantasy. Somewhere deep within our sublimated self we sometimes reach into that most secret bag of childhood fears and fantasies and pull forth such fascinating creatures as you have done. It is a gift to do so and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing this one. Keep on keeping on. It is glorious! Willie, from the vanquished kingdom of Ino.I didn't know that Ino had been vanquished. Perhaps they might rise again, yes? Perhaps this did touch something inside my subconcious, I really couldn't say where it came from. Glad you liked it. | |
