One of a series of commissions for Peggy Beanston. This is her character Durden, a dark elf warrior. He is one of the six heroes in her series of novels. <04/04/08> While trying to upload a new pic, the extranet sent me a notice that this and several other pics were too large pixel-wise, and that I would have to adjust them. Retroactive pixelization...who knew? ;)

What I like best about this is that he is very obviously elven, with a nice elven build, but he isn't a waif (like many people tend to draw elves - 7ft tall and 120 lbs - something I tend to do ^^12.

This is an excellent pic, I like everything about it - the shading, the char design, the lines, the pose... should I go on? Btw, when I saw the thumbnail with the title, I though you drew a pic of Drizzt D'Urden, the drow elf from Dark Elf Trilogy(he also fights with two swords). That is true..unfortunately by this point, with Drizzt being as popular and as well known as he is, ANY dark elf with two swords will fall under that comparison. Can't avoid it, really. Glad you liked it, though 2

Yes yes, I'll probably have to change his name.. or his fighting style. The similarity was an accident, but the tsr lawyers might not think so. His personality, his background and his race bear no other similarity. I love his face here, and the swords and boots etc... I'll hate to have to change him, but we must all suffer for our art, right?I think they'd have to work awfully hard to make a case, especially since aside from race and the fact that they both have duel weapons, they aren't anything alike. I'd say leave him alone unless you're forced to change it 2

Again, excellent deatil. I love the boots.I used to draw fold-top fantasy boots on all my male figures, but I wanted this one to be different. Apparently, I started a trend in my work. I wonder if Hilfiger or Ralph Lauren needs a boot designer? 12

By the by, Durden (and Irene) were the only two characters in my books that were role-playing characters first, so anyway, I showed Durden's picture to the guy who used to play Durden. He was stunned. He said, "All you did was give him a description? This looks like it was drawn by someone who knew Durden!" So expect a visit and possibly a commission request by someone calling themselves, Shen, or Marius (I don't know which one he goes by these days) or Jeff Roberts. In case it wasn't obvious, Irene was my character. I loved her in the game, I love her in the book and I really love the way you drew her. (And she loves Durden) Just thought you might like to know.Cool, I'm glad he liked it as well. By all means, tell him to stop by, even if it's just to comment. Am I a comment hog, or what? 12

He looks rather like someone I wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley. A series of novels are mentioned... are these available to the general public? Not as of yet, but Peggy is working hard on getting them finished...

(The Author) They will be. My aim is to have book 1 out by December 2003 (Though due to some unavoidable distractions, I'm falling behind) In the mean time, I'm always looking for readers to give me advise on what I have so far. No I won't be publishing them on the web I will be selling them to a real live publisher like Del Rey-- assuming, of course, that I can get them to read it, like it and publish it. Anyone interested in being a test reader should email me.

Fantastic, yet i do hope this will not stop me becoming the first welsh speaking black mayor of swansea? Wales....Don't see any reason why it should...Do you normally wear arms and armor to the mayoral elections, though? 12
