The next in a series of pictures that I'm doing of the four archangels. According to legend, Gabriel visits unborn children in the womb and gives them all the knowledge that they will need in the world. He then silences them with a gentle finger on the lips, which is where the depression under our nose comes from.

Tried something different with the wings on this one because I didn't want to do feathers again.

Very nice shading! Like the wings too, quite original! Thanks. I didn't want to do feathers this time, so as to separate it more from my Micheal pic.

Really like what you did with the wings. Great use of light and shadow, too.I knew it had to pop, for the details to have any chance of being seen. Thanks muchly 2

If the wings were in color, it would almost be a stained-glass effect. Very interesting. It looked more like stained glass to me before I shaded it, but I love the fact that the effect comes across now to other people.

Stunning detail work, the shading is breathtaking, so realistic!! And very awesome idea on the wings!! ^_^ amazing!I kept reworking bits of it to make sure that it got the detail that I wanted. It still looks flat to me in places. Thanks for stopping by.

Wow! I like the 'glassy' wings! Can't imagine you'd be able to fly with them though2 The anatomy is very good and I like the horn1I'm very pleased that they look like glass to you. I wasn't sure if that read at all. 2 Thanks for the comment.

I love the wings.. and the horn... and for that matter the baby. Getting better on that dark shading thing... I'd love to see the wings in color... with light shinging through them... very imaginative. Thanks very much. I'm not sure where the stained-glass idea came from, but I went for broke on it.

Nice. Is there any specific significance to the tattoo? I can't quite make out what flower it is...
The shading is wonderful, though. I'm very jealous. It's a Lily, a flower associated with Gabriel. Glad you liked it 2
