An old NPC idea I had when I was still dabbling in Battletech. I actually think there is one of these now in Battletech, or there may have been then, or whatever. The practical upshot of all this is that I've done exactly one other pic of this character, and I never liked it. So here's a redone version...fit the character? Maybe, maybe not...turned out pretty well, though, I think :) Always helps to have a good model.

Ah, yes, they did in fact create an NPC with this nomme de guerre... Natasha Kerensky, the "Black Widow". Still, this, not being Ms. Kerensky, is an interesting looking character, nonetheless! I like the gun! =)THanks, you can do wonders with a SuperSoaker 12

Oh my god! You've made a female Riff! I love it. Is that a laser gun? You must read Sluggy Freelance (sluggy.com). This is a great picture. I like the black widow motif.I've only occassionally glanced at Sluggy Freelance. The Black Widow theme came from a discussion I had with some friends back in undergrad about a Battletech game. Thanks for stopping by and commenting 2

Nice pic, although she DOES look more than a little deranged, as if she's saying "That's right... you're next..."If I remember the info about the Battletech Black Widow correctly, her mech had no armor on the back at all. All she did was charge, and figured if she ever ran, she was dead anyway. Could be just a little deranged 12 Thanks.

So what does the red symbol on her belly indicate or mean?

"So what does the red symbol on her belly indicate or mean?"

If you know what the spider looks like then that should be obvious ^_^ ... It's a sign showing everyone around her who she is "The Black Widow". Aka Widowmaker because that is basicly what she does, after all she is the best, most feared, and one of the most famous pilots in the battletech universe. Maybe not as good as Kai Allard-Liao because he's just amazing but I doubt they can really be compared.
Anyway, Great Art I love it! ^_^

If you check the books, graphic adventures, etc, you will find that the Black Widow looks a lot different to your illustration. Quote 'There are no pictures of Natasha Kerensky' the writer did not say why, but usually she is seen to be wearing either her coolant vest and shorts, or a crop top and black leather strides, (trousers, to you yanks), there are better efforts. You say there are "better efforts" and that I will find that the Black Widow looks a lot different than my version...and then you say that according to your source material, there are no pictures of her. Which would mean that you know not whereof you speak. If there are no pictures of her, and I draw one, how could mine be wrong? There are better efforts at constructive criticism. 12

Great pic but the gun looks a lot like a supersoaker. That could be because I used a Super-Soaker for reference. Thought it looked kinda "futuristic".
