They have a lot of character. ^-^ Will Burrows replies: " Thanks! When I drew the eyes and mouth I was using as reference a photo of Kurt Vonnegut. So, it's his fault they have a lot of character. But, of course, the simian features are not his. Neither are the leaves."

So of course I am really liking your style "fingerprint" . Well talk to you soon. Will Burrows replies: "Hey! It's true, I do have some influences from both of those areas. Thanks for checking it out and leaving a comment; I'm glad you liked it."

'Cause, despite his name, this one's not a dirty old man. Parts of the face are based on Kurt Vonnegut (that's the parts taht don't look like a chimpanzee) and I always thought he looked grandfatherly. I'm glad if I brought some of that through. Thanks for the comment!"

That takes skill. He looks kind of monkey-ish, though - was that intended? Well, no matter what, it's awesome how the leaves connect flawlessly to his face. Love it! Will Burrows replies: "Hey, thanks! This guy isn't really a dirty old man; I just always liked that expression and I really enjoyed the double entendre it makes in this case. While the nose and lips were indeed based on those of chimpanzees, which, although most people don't understand the distinction, are apes, not monkeys, the eyes and mouth line were based on Kurt Vonnegut's. It just seemed appropriate. Not that he's a dirty old man...he isn't. But he is foul-mouthed, and I love him for it. Nothing funnier than a foul-mouthed old man."
| 4 Jan 2003 | Tanya L. Miller | Loading...Hey its the Green Man! finally i found one.... so to all who speak spanish, he is the dirty green man...interesting. Will Burrows replies: "Yeah, I've looked for Green Men on Elfwood and they're entirely too dificult to find, though there are a few out there." | |

He does look a little sad, maybe do to the fact the his rain forest is disappearing very rapidly. That was my first thought when looking at this picture. Anyhow, great pic and the shading is very good. I have never heard of this Viejo Verde, but being a foul-mouthed green old nature-dude sounds like a lot of fun. =) Very pretty.
| 21 Aug 2007 | Debbiejo | Loading...Hahaha... That's awesome... I'm from south america and if you ever go to the main plaza in my town there's a bunch of viejo verdes. I think they look sad because all they can do is stare... No young girl will actually take the bait =) | |
