This drawing is sort of based on a real island (brownie points if you can guess which one), and I know it's small, but this is about exactly how large I drew it. I've always drawn small- I'm trying to learn to draw big, but it doesn't work too well. The only computer-aided adjustment was the addition of the flat gray water. (Someday I really ought to fix that.)

I am in awe of your detail work on this piece! I want to live there...if only it were bigger and in color...hint...hint! Great piece!

:-) Jennifer A. Cabbage replies: "*laugh*Well... dunno about the bigger! I tend to work really small. Teeny. Tiny. Miniscule! That's half the fun of it, for me. How small can I make it and still have it look like something?"

I love this piece it is my favorite in your gallery. Why? because of the detail in such a small picture and because I to work small when drawing with pen or pencil. My art teachers keep trying to get me to draw bigger and I have tried but they just don't come out as well as when I draw small LOL. GREAT JOB absoutly faboulous!!!

:-) Jennifer A. Cabbage replies: "This is either the favorite or one of the favorites of most people I know IRL - including myself! 12 My mom is always after me to do more things like it."

Ah, I love it!Im more of a people person myself (meaning i rather drawing people) and im absoulutely hopeless at architecture, castle, etc... I really admire your talent and the detail you put into this picture. Well done! I've been there - the island. Mont St. Michel. I love it. You have to go sometime!

Im in envy of your talent! 2

:-) Jennifer A. Cabbage replies: "I would love to go there sometime, definitely. Someday...!"

*gasp!!* That, for such a little space, is an astonishing amount of detail!!!! I, too, have a tendancy to draw small, but it's gotta take a lot of talent and patience to draw THIS small and actually make it look that...amazing!!! The church/cathedral/big building on top is really cool, and I love the surrounding forests!

Have you ever seen the movie "Mindwalk?" It takes place on that island. I like what you've done with the idea. There's always something sort of magical about islands to me, as if they're almost not really there, or are just about to go under. You've taken this island one step further into that realm. Very nice work.
