	What would you do if you're a 75-year old fisherman, and you happen to snag your net with a beautiful, but quite angry, mermaid? Throw her back? My tribute to the great illustrator, Norman Rockwell. Blue mechanical pencil.

30 Jun 2005	TheAngelEnigma	Loading... I really like this picture for several reasons, one of them being that you drew a realistic mermaid. The fact that she has gills someplace like her stomach tells me that you have thought her through before drawing her, and realized that people who live under the water would need some other way to breath than lungs. I also love the old man's 'Now-what-am-I-gonna-do' expression crossed with his 'Man-the-guys-are-never-gonna-believe-this-one' expression, and the mermaid's annoyed expression. Excellent picture! ~~TAE Timothy Kou replies: "Yeah, the gills had to go somewhere. I just had a hard time figuring out where to put them. I thought about puting them behind her jaw, but that just wouldn't look very good, and anatomically, it didn't make sense. So, I settled for a place where they would be close to the rest of her organs. Thanks a bunch."

1 Feb 2006	KoM	Loading... grins I'm sorry, but I have to say it; for some reason, I think your mermaid looks like a Kou! Lol! Did you use any 'models?' Timothy Kou replies: "Hey, what's that supposed to mean? haha! I didn't use any models. And I don't have any sisters... So, I'm not sure what a female Kou would look like..."

I like the attitudes and emotions on these figures though. Very cute and funny. Yeah, If Rockwell Did Fantasy work I could see stuff like this. Wow, come to think of it. Fantasy work in his style would be some of the greatest art ever. Try more influenced by him. Great Idea!!
