SciFi and Fantasy Art The Cauldron Born by Timothy Kou

The Cauldron is a Celtic/Welsh myth that restores life. There are many different versions of the Cauldron, but this one is inspired by Lloyd Alexander's. When reading the Prydain chronicles, these silent warriors are the things that creeped me out the most.

The way I see it, the Cualdron is an evil creation that represents a false life, and a false resurrection. When thrown into the Cauldron, a fallen warrior will regain life, but he will be incomplete. He becomes a mindless servant of the one who brought him back. This mindlessness is what creeped me out; the fact that the warriors don't speak, don't think, don't feel, only serve.

My take on the Cauldron born is also a bit different from how I've often seen them portrayed. I've made it so that when the warriors are restored, their bodies are made completely whole. They're practically given a new one. I hope you all enjoy.
