I painted this watercolor inspired by medieval art, which is usually filled with symbols. Here the tiny butterfly and the dead tree are symbols.

This pic is lovely - I love her hair, the gentle look on her face, the clothes. My only critique is that she seems too skinny, but perhaps it's all part of the fairy-tale feeling. It definitly feels like an illustration out of a fairy book.

So beautiful...she seems so sad!

Love the dress and the colors, very beautiful and elegant...I don't think she looks sad but at peace and home with nature. What does the tree and the butterfly represent???

Very pretty. She looks like that chick from the Lord of the Rings.

Absolutely, positively lovely. Your talent in photoshop is amazing to me, but this piece proves you've got your artistic bases more than covered.

She reminds me of Eowyn. I think she's absolutly beautiful!!! ^___^ What are the symbolisms to the butterfly and the tree?

:-) Caisa M. Howerin replies: "Thanks. The butterfly, I think, is a symbol of love. It's frail, but If you hold it too close, you will damage its wings. The tree may be a symbol of death."

At first glance the the butterfly and tree seemed to me to represent death and hope. If anyone's seen fantasia 2000 were the volcano destroys the land and the spitit of the earth. But then hope is reborn from the ashes.
