Congrats on Mods Choice, btw.

Howerin replies: "That's possible, in this instance at least. The picture grew out of a very simple sketch, that I liked because of the unusual, triangular shape of her face and crown. I continued using triangles and diamond-shapes in her costume . And added foliage with pointed leaves on the trees in the background."

Still, very good... um, painting? I'm guessing it's at least partly digitally painted just because of the large smooth flat patches of color, but the edges are a little rough which gives it a sort of more organic feel. ...Don't know if that made any sense, but hey, good job, congrats on Mod's choice, eh? Caisa M. Howerin replies: "Thanks for your comment. Maybe Chinese only in my own imagination. Her costume at least makes me think of someone from the Far East. It is all digital, Illustrator 8, many layers and tiny pieces of "paint" added painstakingly over a period of several months. "

Like she could be a princess by day and a killer scary chic o la by night. LOL. I like it though. her clothes are very nice. Dont look oriental, but they do look like she is a jester or something. I dunno. My whole theme of my house is chinese and I dont see this as being a chinese chic in chinese clothes....just my opinion!

To me, the costume looks like an ancient Indonesian dress, whereas the crown looks like a Thai one. But yes, the style is very unique. I've never seen such pic, this is different. What medium? Caisa M. Howerin replies: "This girl in her fantasy costume reminded me of someone from the Far East, so a Chinese princess came to mind. Indonesian and Thai sounds more accurate. The medium is Illustrator 8. "
