"Demeter" by Caitlynn C. Didlick (Varda)


	Demeter, goddess of growth and vegetation, is in search of her daughter, Persephone. In one Greek myth it is said that Hades, the god of the underworld, took the maiden by surprise while she was picking flowers and made her his wife. It goes on to say that her mother went in search of her with two torches, while the land lay barren, cold and dark.
