This poem is a dialogue between Odin, commander of the Valkyries, and Brynhild, a Valkyrie who rebelled against him for her brother in Valhalla. Brynhild stands up to Odin, telling him that fears her. As penance, we condemn her to remain on a hilltop until a mortal should come and claim her. After a while his heart softens, realizing she was the only Valkyrie who was his equal in battle and places a ring of fire around her, so that only the bravest mortal can claim her. (5-15-03)

::Recall of the Valkyrie::

 - Brynhild -

Afear me not, oh sweetest Odin

For I’m not long afeared

From forth the earth shall you emerge

And cross your gravis sword with mine

Implore shall I to thine own end

For in Valhalla You shall linger

Shield at hand and arms outspread

And thus deny me gain of Siegmund

Thereafter find you not an heir of peace

Nor taste the bitter oaths of lust and love

Nay!

Thy wise breath has ever left my breast

And returnith not to smile upon yours

And if thou hear me not,

Brynhild I stand atop

Brynhild I shall remain

- Odin –

Doth I but hear your pitied words

With little heed do I endow

Thenceforth present thy penance

“Afeared” dear Brynhild?

“Afeared” my golden child?

Tis I your deem is thrown?

Untamed of woe forever more

Upon the faceless hilltop

To dwell thereon upon the bidding

Of his redeeming sword

Mortal is he, with breath so stale

To one his life is for

 - Brynhild -

Bring forth your vile!

Unleash your hate!

Avail me none shall they

For gallantry is long since gone

What fate is mine this day?

-         Odin –

Forthwith I stand, my sheath unturned

I do but hear your pleas

The battlefield has sport but won

And nevermore shall we share

Without my golden hair and steed

The game’s forever done

Asleep you’ll lie, witherith too

For will is mine that flames be set

Thus now about you, round your shield

For hence about, in thy on peace

But mere the brave shall win your cost

Aflame this burning ring I rest

My Maiden of faint battle’s lost

Afeared my dark spirit?

Afeared my ominous seraph?

Odin I stand atop

Odin I shall remain

I am Wills the Golden Dragon of the Way Wu Wa out of Teinxian. We still wander the world though our kingdom lays worn as time make sand of stone. At times it’s if I am but a dream within the heart of a sparrow that dreams it’s a humming bird who flies the skies in the hope of bring a word of Gods love to thee. No more can I pass on, for now I can not see. The tears of love’s found joy have blinded me. Still I carry Dragon Spring once forged for the Emperor Ming. Blades sheathed, by the treasure waits, but not in sleep...ancient promises still it keeps. Shun Di Ten Dao, Wills
