Veiled and Vivid
She'd stand there in the sulphyd mist,
Dark clouds that drain of crimson wine
With blood that grows upon the vine,
And barren trees in her hair tangle -
Eyes of frozen ash and rain
Doth scorch the languid Eden sky,
The gypsies glance succumbed for nigh,
The earth doust cloak thy menaced eye -
Naiad fingers curl and arch
about the rivers, silvered sure -
Bend the boughs, thy faded leaves
mid-trodden ground, thy Dryad thieves....
