However, if not, the one thing I would be thinking if this was appearing in front of my eyes is...WHOAH, SHE'S FLOATING!!! People in movies just don't ask that question. For example, in The Evil Dead...nobody asks why the girl is floating. If it was me, that would be my first question. Why is she floating and especially...WHY and HOW.
| 28 Aug 2002 | Chris | Loading...Well, it seems that most people were bound to the cross because they were law breakers. This says to me something based on christianity, but not quite what it says to Christians. With her floating off of the cross, I see her not bound to it, but freed from it, as if she was realizing that she was following something foolish by unquestioning faith. That's what binding one to the cross represents, allowing yourself to be bound without fighting against it. She fought against her binding to the cross, and now she's free. Oh well, great picture, and please forgive my anti-christian babbling. | |

If the mans wife was on the cross don't you think that his hands would be in his face like he was crying than stroking it in a pondering motion? Also. Why is she the only one on the Rock cliff? ( it looks like a cliff ). I also noticed that they are by a Castle? are they wrong doers from that Lord and are paying the price? was she an innocent drawn by the guys power and him taking advantage of it all? why are there so many? I Also Think That Too Many People Pay Too Much Attention On The Center Focas of The Painting Than The Background. It all needs to be taken Equially..Or else why do artists Draw Backgrounds? Its like a Book without a Title.
| 15 Sep 2002 | Rachael | Loading...Once again this is a very good drawing. The expression on the mans face is well done. expecially with his hands. Why did you make it so you could not see her face? One thing..why does every one think it is his wife? there seems to be no greif on his face..Yes The background on this one is very confusing..not thats its bad..its very good. it just confuses you and makes you ask why is she the only one with a golden cross and why is she the only floating? (or flying ..whichever)They way she has her hands out and the way the cross is split apart makes it almost look that she broke free..(to me anyways)..but of what??? | |

| 10 Aug 2004 | Anonymous | Loading...this is an amazing piece of art. it has left me puzzling about my own beliefs. to me the woman is a representation of Jesus and this man looking at the floating woman is wondering and contemplating over the true power of the crucification and his believes. the cross being broken has me left to unspoken words that i cant seem to form.
this entire piece to me is like that of one that will make you question how worthy you are and realize how much truly loves you.

| 19 Oct 2004 | Jenna | Loading...I think that my first thought was: Maybe she is coming back to life after so long. Maybe he is watching for this might be his first time seeing someone come back to life. Seeing that all of the other crosses are empty. That was my thought. Maybe he is interested in this process of rebirth. I think rebirth anyway. Kinda like when Jesus came back to life after death. Maybe this is a symbol of something. She is a messenger of some sort. | |
