"My First Coin" by D. Cameron Calkins

This is my second favorite. I love the texture on the tree and the brance, and that shadow!! You can really see the depth of the thing. But let's not forget that DRAGON!! He's soooooo cute!! I love the sly expression on his face. It's like he saying, "Hahaha!! I stole your coin!!" And yes, this would be the beginning of his horde of treasure!!

I really like the setup of this piece. It tells a great story and has a wonderful composition. Welcome to the woods and keep it up. I must say that drawing from models is the best way to learn, too! I love my life drawing class! Keep it up and feel free to check out my gallery as well!

What a great idea! With the coin and the expression and stuffs! I love it so much, makes me want to draw a li'l baby dragon now, even though I'm no good at it, hehe. Beautiful coloring job as well.

As I am browsing through your gallery I relize more and more how extremely gifted you are. Oh, what it must be like to have so much talent and completely dominate doing what you love. All that I can say is keep up the marvelous work. Your pictures are absolutely breath-taking, and I would do anything for that kind of power,the kind of power to be able to get a mental vision of a wonderful scene and make it work on a sheet of paper. This picture by far has to be my ultimate favorite, from the wonderful color-scheme down to the cute little smirk. I pray that through the years you pick up even more different ways to show your talent to the world, by learning a new fasinating trick on PSP, or simply by picking up a colored pencil and having fun.
