I think your work is amazing, its just your descriptions bother me. Almost all of them start off with "this is a beautiful and stunning painting..." It kind of makes you sound like the stereotypical artist. I can just picture you with a wine glass in your hand leading people through an art convention. No offense, but it gets a little repetitive after a while. Perhaps other descriptive words would do you better. 2

:-) Candace E. Bell replies: "I know I know!Im glad you like my work, But I thought that the description talked about the painting well, apprently people dont like it so I will change the descriptions all soon"

Dude this is awesome. The background is magnificint and the dragons are well structured and posed. Great color too.

:-) Candace E. Bell replies: "Thanks for taking the time to let me know what you thought I really appreciate the compliment!"

Your backgrounds are ..whats the word..very butiful and i love yor ideas and ur use of paint. Its excellent!!! do u have reference for the backgrounds???? either way they're great!!!

:-) Candace E. Bell replies: "for this painting I did referance a few images for the backgrounds, but I like to take idea from a few places in these instances, most its pretty much all the time just out of my head."

Candace E. Bell replies: "I have to admit I never read anything of Tolkiens and I never read the lord of the rings, But I tell you that I loved the movies! Even before Lord of The Rings I have been drawing, painting and creating fantasy art and to tell the truth I cant honestly think of where the inspiration of love for fantasy creatures originated in my life, I really think its just some strange extension of my consciousness and it all comes from there. This is one of my favorites and it was 2x3 feet my largest yet, many of my oil dragon paintings are large, from 16"x20" to 20"x24" to 2x3 feet!

They arnt fun to pack and ship though, but they are fun to paint and often look awsome large scale."

increadible... The drama of this picture is unebelievable. I'm surprised it hasn't started moving. I particularly like the winding stream down below, it kindof helps the viewer get a feel for how high and far away those dragons really are. You captured alot of emotion and beauty, wonderful!

:-) Candace E. Bell replies: "Thanks, this painting is one of my vary favorites and so far the largest as 2 by 3 feet!! I wish I kept it *cries* but I needed the money!"

Love the design of your dragons, the wing stucture in particular is very believable. The composition of this pic is flawless, and you hit the values dead on. A very very eye-catching piece you should be proud of 2

:-) Candace E. Bell replies: "Oh I am VERY proud of this one its one of my favorites. thanks for commenting in it! I think My fav things are the green dragon and the landscape *wide grin*"

Wow, this is truly a beautiful picture.
I like almost all the dragons in your galery, but this one.. I dunno, it's the whole scenery that makes it so great I guess. Very nice, I'm glad I had a peek here.

:-) Candace E. Bell replies: "Thanks very much, this is also one of my very favorites. I do think that in allot of cases, a well done landscape can really make a painting that much more special, so I try and make interesting and beautiful landscapes when I can *smile* "

no one needs to tell you how good your dragons are, because you already know they are amasing. but i am beside myself. your landscapes are captivating. and many of your landscapes actualy DO inspire me to work more on my Kandronais project (including the short stories, that i have been slacking off on lately). your work rivals that of bob ross!!! good job. amasing geographical features.

13 Candace E. Bell replies: "LMAO!!! Thanks.. I really got a kick from the *Bob Ross * comment because way back when, around early high school I was given a Bob Ross starter kit for Christmas, of course I did my own thing with the paint in the kit, but I did take some of his techniques for painting things in landscape, kinda adding my own twist *fantasy* Anyway I’m glad you like the work and that it inspires you, that’s great I think 2 It must show I do a decent job. Funny you just got around to this one now, its been here since I joined Elfwood, Guess you haven’t really looked at everything yet*wink* "

as soon as I saw this in the thumnail i fell in love with it. It's just amazing and your backgrounds just make you feel you really are there in those enchanted places.

1 Candace E. Bell replies: "Thanks! I feel that a good background in a painting is very important, because its really whats behind the subject that brings the creature and its world to life."
