Sort of on a similar theme to 'Depths.' Ballpoint pen. I had to do a pencil sketch first, of course. Thanks everyone for all your suggestions for a background, but in the end I went for simple light-dark shading.

I, on the other hand, would suggest you add a background. Now the figure look very small compared to the big white space around them.

Oh, I like this, wonderful new twist on the old "indian rope trick" idea and beautifully done. I'd leave it like this it's great just as is.

What about clouds (or stars) as background? Just my first thought... I belive because in my native language the word for heaven and sky is the same. But on the other hand: it looks already great, so why alter it?

aahh, so the way up to heaven is totally dependent on strength, resilience and friction...(just joking) This is incredibly effective!!! Where or how did you get the inspiration to do this??? Your grasp of perspective and tricky things like foreshortening just makes me wanna kick myself a hundred times!!! Are you doing a series on the contemplation of life or Death?? (gosh your art is driving me nuts!!!) Anyway, you could reproduce it and try out different effects on the background...(not manually of course)to see what is best for the picture...

This really is fabulous - I love the expression on the girl's (?) face and the way she seems to cling so tenaciously to the rope. I also think the background looks perfect - kind of reminiscent of the 'light at the end of the tunnel' near death experiences 2

Very nice. The perspective is great. I really like it, I'm not good with words, it's dramatic. Seems hopeless and hopeful at the same time...uhh...I guess those aren't the greatest of words. You're very talented.

absolutly love it. really fantastic contortion-eske on the bodys. reminds me of a myth that stupidly i can’t quite remember - where people lowered dogs and and some people down on a rope and found marvelous beaches. mmm.... better go do some research 2
