Whoosh. How did I do that? o.o;; Oh well...^_^;; I'm rather proud of this...Alright...so I'm damned proud of this. I used a picture from the 1986 June issue of National Geographic...>.>;; But just on the face, mind you. I wanted to be as realistic as possible. The rest is all straight from my head...o.o He's a dancer, by the way, staring at the empty seats in the audience, just thinking, after a rehearsal...or sommat...

Wonderful picture... So intense, that gaze... I really like this one, your pencil drawings are absolutely gorgeous... I also like the atmosphere of this one... Great picture!

:-) Carol 'Talfryn Calhoun' Gravley replies: "He really does have an intense look...and why, I'm not sure... Probably just thinking about his life, the show he's rehearsing, who knows. And thanks about my pencil drawings! Sometimes it's fun to take a break from the coloring. n.n"

He's got such large paws for a dancer! ::giggle:: then again, my friends' cat Ivan has really big paws, and he's pretty agile...

:-) Carol 'Talfryn Calhoun' Gravley replies: "Heh heh, it's my "floofy paw" obsession that Quelyntr makes fun of me about; I can't help but draw big paws. ^_^;;"

Wow!Why didn't THIS win mods choice,it's amazing!!

((note11 am not saying that because I am against gays, but this one is truly more well drawn.I'm a dancer, this means alot...Kudos!)))

:-) Carol 'Talfryn Calhoun' Gravley replies: "It didn't get it because I halfway expected it to. *laughs* I jinxed it."

Cool. I like the way he looks. Defiantly feline.

:-) Carol 'Talfryn Calhoun' Gravley replies: "Thankee! ^_^ I think I'll always be proud of this'n.. It's one of those I could never part with."

Beautiful. If I may quote "Floofy Paws! XD" Okay. ^____^ I feel better now. *snuggles the paws* THis one must have taken forever. Spots 9 This should have gotten mod's choice. Yup. *nods* Like I said, Beautiful.

He he, I *just* noticed that you have a Sci-fi Gallery. >.>'

:-) Carol 'Talfryn Calhoun' Gravley replies: "Don't worry, Nightshade, it's a fairly new development. *laughs*Yes, this one DID take quite a while...o.o In fact, I stopped working on it for a couple of months and finally gritted my teeth and finished the bloody thing. ^_^; I should do another realistic furry at some point...o.O"

This came out really well. The face, of course, looks great, but what I really like is his right arm. The paw-hand and subtle muscle lines look really good.

There were two things I noticed about this that you may or may not want to fix.

1. The head looks a little big for the body.
2. Everything is shaded very consistantly, except for the head. I think it's because you copied it from a picture, and you may have been concerned with making the head look like the picture more than being concerned with making the head look like the rest of your drawing.

Ah well, very nice all the same. I like the background you did, and the pose looks very natural.

:-) Carol 'Talfryn Calhoun' Gravley replies: "1) He's just small bodied. Don't forget that he's a dancer. Have you ever actually looked at a person with a thin somatotype and drawn them?
2) I agree. At that point in my art "career" I had yet to figure out much about lighting. I know a little more now.
Thank you! I know a few lines that I wish I had done differently to give it more depth...x.X I was clueless about such things. ^_^;; Thanks about the pose! I should know it well, I sit like that all the time...o.O"

Heh... I remember the first time I saw this, it took my breath away. It's funny, because it inspired one of my most beloved characters (a dancer named Jasper) and he's developed so much since then. There i was, just checking out your gallery, and then... I swear, I almost had a flashback =P
I like his arms, and I really love the fur, it looks so soft and short. I can never draw that...
Only thing that bothers me is that his left thigh seems to be mysteriously missing =S
Anything else I feel you need to hear about... Naw, I guess I've rambled on long enough =)
Meow!

:-) Carol 'Talfryn Calhoun' Gravley replies: "The left thigh isn't missing, it's just in dark shadows and difficult to see in the scan...x.X Anyway... Wow. I'm amazed that my work inspired someone else...o.o Thanks so much..."

It looks realistic! Need not worry! (Doubt you worried in the first place, neh? *smilesmile*)

+waltzes inside and sits down in a chair+ I want to see the thing dance. Love his expression and thoughtfulness... Like he is playing some sort of movie in his head. Very moving. +nod+ Yes very moving indeed.
