The free one is a really good starting point, but the pay-for one has some great tools which are definitely worth paying for. You’re quite right about the carousel horses, but I didn’t think about it until you said it. I love carousel animals. The deer neck is correct also. I begin with a deer form from a taxidermist, then I cover it with clay and at that point I begin sculpting my dragons. I wish I had more time to work on my art. I have some interesting creatures in my head that I should really get out of there! I too almost went to art school, it was commercial art...I am really terrible at working with a time line in mind so I’m sure it was fates way of doing what was right for me!
