OK..it's an attempt to picture Nehringodol, the Antigetite chieftain. Antigetite and other mutant species were driven out from their territories by the growing human civilization. They now are confined in the unfertile areas west of the river Aeothon. Nehringodol (“naring-goad-ol”) therefore, like most of his fellow “condemned”, bitterly resents the humans living east of the river and the evil Servitude gives them hope to recover their long lost territories from their human conquerors. Nehringodol, however, is not a holy man. A senior emissary of the Servitude once described

“…An individual with an iron will. Without hesitation he would resort to atrocities to reach his goal. He proves loyal to The Cause (i.e. the Servitude) yet never without hope for rewards. He is a mercenary, a dog of war you may well say, but also a patriot, who longs to avenge the injustice done to his folk… “

If you didn’t catch the description above, never mind ;) It’s only one of a series of pictures related to the story I’m working on. It’s my first design on non-human warrior. I need some critical feedback on this one. The chainmail was a test of my patience, but I think it came out OK.

Thank you very much to the mods for having chosen my work :) *bowing politely*

Did you draw the armor or trace over a 3 dimensional construction? It looks almost like something I would make in a computer modeling program. The shading and depth is almost the same.

Nice observational abilities. I think the picture is so appealing because you have caught a real human expression and accurately transferred it to this creature. The body language from the head, the shoulders, the body.....they all match to provide that feeling of real life that real living creatures have.

2 F. M. 'B-Man' Bahasuan replies: "Actually I started with the face and expanded it gradually. All was drawn freehand but the fact that you said that it look like a computer rendering is kind of alarming 2 (well... you know, I dont want to render the way a 3d program would do) I guess I'll have to put some more dramatic lighting effect in the future. Thank you very much for your feedback, highly appreciated 1

Cheers!"

Not really much to add about the excellent chainmail & armour, but I thought you might get a chuckle out of the fact that in the thumbnail I thought he was wearing a floral summer dress.

You must be a man of great patience! The chainmall is awesome. The whole picture is great. The only thing I see is that his hair should wave more as if the wind is gently lifting it up and playing with it. After that all I can say is your art work is Awesome!! Keep on drawing!

Really... the chainmail is just... wow. But most of all I like the buttons on his armour. The 3 D effect is great.

Oh my god the detail! Wow... this was certainly worth taking the time to do, it's so realistic! The shading is great, but I agree with Nils that the hair could do with some more depth. Great picture though!
