I was flipping through a textbook on dinosaurs and decided I wanted to draw dragon skulls based off of them. I still need some practice. The one that has a 'skin' version was based off of a Deinonychus and it looks completely different. At least I got some practice on anatomy out of it. I'm really happy with the one on the bottom left.

Gracious me!!! That is absolutely amazing, I can't believe it! They are beautiful Jessica, stunning! You could illustrate a book on dragons with those! Fantastic job.

2 Jessica 'CelticDragon' Camp replies: "  Really? Thanks! I wouldn't mind doing that. ^_~"

Yay! A fellow paleontologist! Huzzah! I hardly ever meet anyone who can pronounce paleontologist. . . let alone want to be one. I'm just so happy! ;_; Your skull studies are very detailed. I am very impressed. Bravo! Keep it up! Your eye for detail will help you in your path to paleontology!
~ Good luck and happy hunting!

2 Jessica 'CelticDragon' Camp replies: "Thanks! Always glad to meet a fellow dino freak. ^_^"

It looks really cool. I have a body skeletal and head of one of the aliens I drew, but I am still fixing up the head skeletal on the computer. 2

2 Jessica 'CelticDragon' Camp replies: "Cool. Are you going to put it in your gallery?"

*Chuckle* You know, I've admired this piece for some time... but only now discovered that we're in the same gallery on Elfwood! And since I've been in love with dinosaurs (and dragons) for close to 45 years now, it's appropriate!

Excellent job on this one, Jessica. I love how you've got a feel for the bulk of the skull, and yet still managed to convey the "lightness" of it, too.

:-) Jessica 'CelticDragon' Camp replies: "Thanks! 2 It's been a while since I'd visited your gallery. I just checked it out again and I love the updates. The griffin came out really well. All the work you put into the feathers was well worth it.I have an entire wyvern skeleton drawn now, but I have to wait until I have access to a big enough scanner this fall before I can post it, along with another drawing of dinosaur/human rolereversal."

Id ave to agree with the first comment. Would love to see them in a dragon book that i could add to my collection of dragon bio books.. Publish one please LOL

:-) Jessica 'CelticDragon' Camp replies: "Unfortunately, I haven't drawn much in the past year. No inspiration or time. >.< The dragons I'm drawing now look a lot better than any of the ones I've posted here. But I'm an artist by hobby, not by career, so I don't see myself publishing a dragon book anytime. Dinosaurs on the other hand- I'm going to grad school next year to study paleontology and will be illustrating my papers. Not as exciting as dragons, since it'll be technical drawings and not illustrations, but I've done a couple illustrations that I just need to get scanned so I can put them on here. They were for an illustration class I took last year and they're too big to fit on my fiance's scanner. But yeah..Note the differences between those and my old drawings when I post them and you'll see how much studying anatomy helps. 2"
