I'm not sure why you wrote this comment, because I did not state that the halfling was taller in any way. If you are just judging by body stature, then you should also know that dwarves are a lot stockier than halflings so they are differently built, proportionally their legs are shorter etc. So I don't know what exactly your comment is about, because if you are saying that I drew my halfling taller than my dwarf then you are totally wrong. Then you would also have to conclude that my orc is the same size because I drew it on a same sized piece of paper. I find this comment extremely silly, unless you just wanted to share your fabulous wisdom with me, in that case: Yes I agree/ know, halflings are shorter than dwarves"

LOL I always find it odd when people start debating how a fantasy creature "really" looks. I get that a lot with my trolls. I definitely took some flack with my bondage fairy. Some people like everything to be in neat little catagorized boxes. Burn the boxes, art is for expression. I've been working on fantasy pin-up girls for a while now. I'll have to get some of them scanned and uploaded. I'll let ya know when they get posted.

| 25 Jul 2002 | Mariko | Loading...Okay... I hate to add another comment like this after you kinda chewed out the last person who did, but... I'd have to agree that your halfling looks a little off. Im NOT saying that all fantasy people must fit into a certain box or anything, but halflings are different simply because they are the creation of one person who set the guidelines... Also, I wouldnt put this if it were simply your style, but you made the drawf and the gnome look short. But the main thing with this to me is that she looks much too skinney to be a hobbit. Hey, maybe she doesnt eat much, but if you read the books, it makes a point of saying that the hobbits ate many meals in a day, s it was part of their nature.... Other than that, I like this picture, but I really like the series. Interesting. | |

Um, I really hate to go all "Dungeons and Dragons" on everybody, but in D&D halflings are slim and dexterous, and tend to be rogues...so getting away from Tolkein stereotypes, this *halfling* (not "hobbit") is fine. Also cute, although I prefer the Gnome, hehehe
