Yong is the big symbol on the top left and means eternity or always in chinese. Then, from left to right is written: spring, summer, autumn, winter. cool, eh? It's a school project, done with acrylics. The background, moon and leaves are water colour. It's a bit bigger than my scanner, so about a centimeter is missing on each sides ^.^'
There's a short story behind it talking about a couple of elves (drows?) kinda running away, and towards their future, and they fall asleep for eternity at the feet of that tree that cast some sort of spell (more of a curse) for them to be forever bonded...AnYwAyS!! It's a story I had to make up to go with the pic lol! so EnJoY :D

Aw... I dont know whether thats happy or sad... Being forever together, but not knowing it?
Amazing picture. The position on the elves is perfect.

Wow, the colours are wonderful, and the shapes, the way they kind of blend with the colours and everything... also the tree, and how it seems to follow the shapes in the background a bit...

I like how you used the Chinese characters here! They look like the real Chinese calligraphy, they're so neatly written 10 I once had to learn Chinese but my characters always look terrible...

Loved this pic, and the background story is great!!

2 Katherine Deros replies: "Hey!!thx so much ! I never learned chinese, I had a book to learn some chinese-art techniques ...And there was a couple of words and definitions so I took them from there. I love chinese writing! lol"

Wow, this is beautiful!! The shading, the colour - everything looks amazing! 1
I LOVE the story that goes with the image, it such a bittersweet idea! 1 Did you write the whole thing out? I'd love to read it! 1
The chinese writing is also done really well! =o =D

So yes, amazing picture!! 1

13 Katherine Deros replies: "*blush* hum, yea the story I wrote in french though, but it's kinda poetic a bit so I can't translate it really well. But give way to your imagination!! Thanx for All your comments, keep in touch!!!"

Woww, now this is just beautiful. I just adore the colours, and the story behind it too. It's amazing that you can actually tell that they are figures at the angle that they have been drawn! That is skill 2

I was thinking, maybe, if you wanted/didn't mind, I could have a go at writing a story for this piece, based around yours? Totally fine if you're not happy with that, just an idea 2 We could do some kind of exchange! Okay, I'll shh, I'm getting carried away... It's just a lovely picture. How do you know how to write Chinese? [note to self: read Katherine's bio] Heh... [shuts up and shuffles off]

30 Katherine Deros replies: "Of course!! Let yourself loose 1 I really appreciate your comment and am honored by your interest...And I'd really like to read what you make of it! Cheers, Beth!! ^.^"

I really like the colors you choose for your artwork. I think what really catches the eye in this piece is the tree in the middle (says the person who’s horrible at drawing trees!) Great job on the shading of the figures! Such a difficult angle!

:-) Katherine Deros replies: "yea it was a tough one...But I had references for the couple, that helped a lot. AWW my gawd; I should do some more non-digital paintings...fun stuff 1 Cheers, Liz! "

The story suits it 1 Even if they’re under a spell at least they’re together!

:-) Katherine Deros replies: "thanks for commenting, miss! You do know that I’m a fan of your art and stories, right!? <3 18"
