| 12 Jul 2005 | Shelby Blair | Loading...This is really creepy. I first saw the head and chest and thought "ooh! a nice drow!" then I scrolled down and saw the spider body! I like the feel of this, I feel like I am there with it! Cheryl L Berube replies: "Not that you'd want to be there with it... He may be blind, but he makes up for it with 360 degree swings of ferocity. I really do appreciate your comments Thank you! <3" | |
| 12 Jul 2005 | Kim E. Houtkamp | Loading...I never was really fond of these creatures, but this one kind of takes that away. I hope he doesn't get hurt... I really like this drawing. My compliments! Keep up the good work! Cheryl L Berube replies: "Yeah, in the first Drizz't novel, they don't sound too appealing to me either. I did take liberties with the way they were described, although they sound more nightmarish in the book's description, I have a hard time drawing them that way. Thanks again! " | |
| 12 Jul 2005 | Jessie 'Chaya' Newton | Loading...wow...this is awesome... i have actually been thinking of drawing one for the longest time... i think you just inspired me to draw one tonight ^.^...thanks! I love this peice, you can see the fact that he doesnt want to be hurt directly in his face...its awesome! Cheryl L Berube replies: "Thank you so very much! I really do appreciate your comments and I'm glad i could inspire you. i hope to see that image in your gallery soon! " | |
| 12 Jul 2005 | Kaitlin Powell | Loading...The shading on his face really helps add depth. Even if his ears are uneven it doesn't really bother me. I would like to see maybe his eyes black with a shine. Right now they look almost unfinished. Another thing I'd like to see is the bottom torso blend more into the spider part. I love the contrast of the white hair and the shadow. He does look rather unhappy doesn't he? ^_^ Cheryl L Berube replies: "Thanks for your comment! I'm glad you liked him. After looking at this image again, I agree that black shiny eyes would have been better, but I figured that without light, there was no need for vision, so he's really blind. Or mostly blind. " | |
| 6 Aug 2005 | Jamie M. Arenas | Loading...Awesome! The shadow especially gets me. Nice contrast and shading. I agree the torso should blend a bit more gradually with the spider body...perhaps some spidery hairs along the sides of the torso would look kewl and help with that...no I'm not telling you what to draw and yes I know the darn thing's already finished, it's just a thought, cuz thoughts breed thoughts and purebred thoughts work wonders...ahem anyways...is it just me or are the arms a bit short? Or are they supposed to be that way? Anyways great pic! Very alive. Cheryl L Berube replies: "Nope, not just you, the arms are a bit short. Thanks for your kind comments on my little drider guy. I appreciate it! " | |
| 18 Aug 2005 | Leah | Loading...wow, your really great. I didn't know what a drider was until I came across your page! did you make them up, or are they well known (....except to me)? I think you have amazing talent, but I wish you'd do more and put it up here! Cheryl L Berube replies: "Wow. I know this reply is late. Thanks for commenting! Driders are a mutation of dark elves (drow) and spiders that is the punishment meted out to enemies of the demon-goddess Lolth. They were made up by TSR as part of their D'nD gaming system. Thanks for your comments and visit! " | |
| 15 Nov 2005 | Ellemerr | Loading...Hm... I didn't know exactly what Driders was before now, either... just know it was a spider thingy... But hey, the ears!! I love that ears, that type of ears are kind of my favourits, I think... I started painting them lately, think it must have been after a visit here, and I hope you don't mind... it's a lovely ear-type... | |

A perfect gift to him would probably be a comb, or a free haircut... it is a nice picture. | |
