| 4 Jul 2004 | Aimee R. Gordon | I love your work it is really great. If I could make a suggestion (because you said you liked that) Don't consentrate so hard on making your pictures look realistic. Just enjoy it and let it flow more smoothly. Also make your lines a little more solid when you're finished with a picture. Elyse Moore replies: "Hey- thanks for the comment. *lol* and the hint! I have been focusing on realism... mostly because whenever I draw anime, i do awful!! *lol* but ur suggestion really helps... and if u have any tips on "non-realistic" drawing... get back with me! i need all the help i can get." | |
| 24 Jul 2004 | Maxime (Frey) Goffeau | Nice you've got an interesting style! Aimee's right too much details makes it look weird... it's good to do it easy quickly... with passion! Elyse Moore replies: "hmmm... two comments about the same thing... i'll take a hint when i see one! thanks to both u guys... =^_^=" | |
| 4 Sep 2004 | Mike Burley | Well spotted on the mermaid wristwatch ;^) Actually it's a shell bracelet which you can see if you get close to the drawing which you can't coz of the Elfwood restrictions on file size which destroy all the detail :^( As a sorta prize for spotting it (nobody else has!!) I'll let you into a secret which nobody else knows ~ The reference pic I used for the fishy people woz from an magazine advert for guess what??? Yep! A Wristwatch ;^D Don't tell anybody though LOL Gotta disagree with the above commenters. If realism is where you want to go then detail, detail, detail and put as much time and effort into a pic as it takes to get it right (only YOU know when that is). The pics I'm doin at the moment at A3 size are taking me about 20 hours each of pencil on paper time. The other trick to realism is that nothing in the real world has a line round it!! One of the hardest things for me to learn was to draw without lines. The pics on my gallery can be followed from the earliest ~ with lines ~ to the latest without. You have a good basic style here with the most important attribute, which is imagination, by the bucketful. If you decide to specialise in realism OR anime and seriously want to become good at either then practice til your fingers bleed and you will create wonders to behold :^) Elyse Moore replies: "Haha... your secret's safe with me... >^_^< So, it was a shell bracelet? I'll have to take another look.. the details on the mermaid piece were beautiful! (anyone reading this comment.. check out Mike's gallery if you haven't already seen it.. ) =^_^= But yes, realism is where I want to go.. I just began the book.. "drawing on the right side of the brain"... ever heard of it?... it's fantastic! Anyway, it's definitely renewed my excitement for realism. A3 size? I'm impressed! But the details on your art show the time you take with each project; And thank you so much for your complement! (even though it's totally unwarranted. it's an ego boost.. ha.) glad you stopped by... and the advice on practicing!! -i'll act on it... Arigatou!! " | |
| 5 Sep 2004 | Jake Lineback | Excellent artwork! Better than mine for sure! Oh well, I'm sure I'll get better...anyway, I like this art, so keep up the good work! Spike Elyse Moore replies: "Hullo' jake.. thanks so much for stoppin' by!! =^_^= *lol* and my art's not better than yours.. I don't paint ceiling high projects...(you did, and you still got the details on the face...) errr.. i couldn't do that.. anyway- hopefully.. I'LL get better.. i know you will! arigatu and ja ne!" | |
