I love all your wolves. it easier to see how other people draw or paint them. I’ve been trying to get it right for almost two years. Thanks for your ideas. Q:how do you do the eyes if your only getting a side veiw?

Sara Guidry replies: "thanks^^ the eyes from the profile are difficult and i’ve just figured it out myself ^^" the eye from the profile view has to take a cone-like shape for any animal... it has to look like a convex lens at the front of the eye and come to a point where the eyelids meet. on a wolf the area around the eye is usually black, there’s not much fur and skin takes over close to the eyelids so near the muzzle there should still be an extended area of skin showing from profile view... the end result looks kind of like a ball gently squeezed between two folds of skin... if u want i could make a tutorial :/ i’m a visual learner myself and that explanation is a bit unclear ^^""

Sara Guidry replies: "thank you! i’m low on ambition and high on potential so i’ve been told =P unfortunately i tend to shoot myself down before i begin... or i’m pessimistic whether or not i’ll succeed b.c of the economy or some other excuses that i formulate so as not to take the risk =P honestly i’ve had only a few commisions and they’re of things i hate to do XD (pets, portraits, and... furry yiff -_- uuuhhg) i was desperate ^^" but i really wanna do just character commissions or book illustrations or even have people want the art i create on my own but that hasn’t happened yet T_T lol (many people ask for art trades so they don’t have to pay ) buuut enough of my rant ^^" sorry... thanks again luv "

I LOVE your "bye an apple?" piece!!! My husband is an apple farmer so I find it ironic and funny. It’s so dark and cool looking!

Sara Guidry replies: "hihi X3 an apple farmer eh? i bet when the season rolls around you’re already sick of em’ XD i love honey crisp ^^ i live in michigan so i’m lucky enough to get them fresh from the local orchards yummy... thanks!"

Sara Guidry replies: "thanks! X3 no i’ve never tried any tutorials or anything ^^" i used to be president of an art club where i kinda taught some things=P but that fell apart quickly... if u want a specific tutorial i’d be happy to do one ^^"

Your work is amazing. so incredibly vibrant and colorful. Just beautiful. I hope you keep up with the drawing, don’t let it go. I gave up drawing for 3 years to pursue a career in Finance. At first I loved my job. New and a refreshing turn of pace. But after a while I started to hate it. I committed all my time to work, and I lost my love for anthing, work and my hobbies. When I said "screw this" and picked up a blank peice of paper and a fresh pencil. I was a new man again. I appreciate art in such a different way now. Its a part of me, and in a way, art and creativity art the essence of my happiness. I hope you stay with it. It will lead to a rich and fufilling life, even if the paychecks aren’t as glamorous.

Sara Guidry replies: "Thank you so much for sharing. It’s hard for me to remember that I’d be nothing without doing what I enjoy most for a living. I just want so badly to be self-sufficient at the very least (I have a considerable bunch of people to prove wrong =P). Plus, my mom worked to the bone so she could afford college for me, she didn’t want me to have to pay as long as I did well. Needless to say, the pressure gets to me and I end up throwing everything aside and also saying, "skrew this." I won’t give this up though, if all else fails I can take the 1950s route and find a man with a hefty paycheck to depend on =P lol jk... Actually I’m working on rough drafts for a graphic novel I’d like to start begining with my two newest characters, Banjoko and Gathii... I will try to look past the risk of focusing most of my energy on art and just enjoy it. Thank you for your encouragement! <3"

Wow, the colouring is absolutly amazing, with just coloured pencil! I just can’t colour with coloured pencils. Do you have a technique?<spelling error? FANTASTIC ART PIECES!! Bravo! *posh clap*

Sara Guidry replies: "thanks!! my technique is to basically ’rape’ the pencil =P lol i just use layers of color and i blend it all together with a white or very light pastel color... i basically press really hard a lot for bright colors b.c i want the color to appear solid ^^"
