Corixa was a young Sanagisian - only twenty four. She devoted to no mage, though was fond of Bastet for her closest companion was a tigeress cub named Sanguinara. She did not always bear the weight of these demonic wings, however. She was once mortal.. And had aimed toward becoming a cleric.

This changed for poor Corixa, however.. For when she crossed a vengeful apprentice of the dark mage Set, and prevailed, Set cursed her and her companion with the evil spirits of demons, even staining the cub's fur a dark midnight black. Yet even as a demon of Set, Corixa refused to follow him. Set would have finished her and her companion Sanguinara had Set's own son, Anubis, not rescued them.

Corixa and Sanguinara became apprentices to Anubis in return for his favour, and he with his lunar magics tried to lift the curse of the demon which often altered poor Corixa's thoughts. The curse could only be lifted partially -- The weight of her heavy demonic wings remained, as they did to Sanguinara.

For her valiant efforts in resisting Set's dark powers, Re, great solar mage, awarded Corixa with another companion -- a yellow hided gryphon named Gryphalis who would serve to protect her.

This was not the end however... Many many nights after, Set had not given up. In a dark alley of Sanagis Corixa was approached by a group of Set's most powerful dark mages, and Corixa again prevailed -- but just barely. The gryphon was wounded and knocked unconcious, but he would recover. Corixa and Sanguinara, however, would not. That is, had another not come to save them.

The dark figure whispered something into Corixa's ear, but Corixa could barely hear her, only nod her head absently as she quietly wimpered in the pain of her mortal wounds. The figure was cloaked, and when she lifted her hood, there stood a long haired pale beauty, her eyes glowing in the shadowy night. She lowered herself to Corixa's neck -- And embraced her, then did the same for the black tiger cub, Sanguinara. Corixa and her companions would be eternal, now.. For that is how Corixa the vampiress was born a hunteress of the night.

I absolutely adore your choice in colours! I also love how you've made the skin tones. Though long hair would have been a treat! *tickles*
And I'm not saying this because I'm biased with Purple being my favourite colour; Those wings are fantastic.

2 Heather R. Davis replies: "  I have had so many characters with long hair, I guess I needed something a bit different for Corixa. She also has a thing for purple, thus the wings, thus the background. 1 Thank you for the comment!"

I love the short hair, I don't know why, but I think that short hair is very hot... the big demon sings are a little turnoffy though..... just a little...

:-) Heather R. Davis replies: "The wings you mean? ..Grin. I'm not sure Corixa meant to turn you on, though--she is a seductress.. You'd understand that if you confronted her in the real world though. I personally prefer long hair, but maybe that's because I couldn't dream of cutting my own. ^_^ Thanks for the comment!"

I really love this picture! I'm a big fan of vampire books and pictures. Those huge purple wings are simply beautiful!! You must be very talented. Uh... Im kinda gothic (Im Evanescence obsessed) so I go for this kinda stuff. That being said, good work!!

~Maya

:-) Heather R. Davis replies: "Grin. I don't know if I can be considered a goth, but I do often wear black (out of fondness) and have an obsession with vampires. Truly I am my own genre of person, I think. ^_^ As explained in the story, she is a half-demon. She bares demonic appearance, but is not of the ethereal stuff that composes the vintage demons. Thank you for the comment!"

The story got to me when I saw the picture. It's astounding how you can intertwine expressing yourself through literature and visual art. Keep it coming! 1

2 Heather R. Davis replies: "Somehow I just put this story all together at once. Go figure ;-) I have a complete version on my Kougra neopet's site, http://petpages.neopets.com/~Sanguinara. She's a halloween kougra who looks a LOT like the tigress cub I imagined. Additionally, the story is slightly twisted to a false rendition so that I could associate it with neopets. My main focus is in fact on my literature. The visual art is simply an aid for myself and others. What can I say? I'm obsessed with my work! *inno*"

very beautiful dress...I want one...And her hair cut! I dont see many short hair cuts around here and her's is very cute ^^

11 Heather R. Davis replies: "And here I thought the dress was rather plain! I'm glad that you like it. Perhaps because Lothlorien is home to a lot of medieval-fantasy based work, the general concept is much like the women of the time. Whether or not the Egyptian women cut their hair, I'm not sure. (One could make assumptions based on the heiroglyphic evidence.) The way I see it, different Sanagisians' hair can only grow so long, and the style in which it grows is predetermined in the genetics, so there was much less reason to style it. Though part of me wonders if I had intended Corixa's hair to be slightly more spikey at the ends ot the strands, rather than straight and seemingly well-kept. Though it seems my characters have pictures with good hair days and then simple average hair days. Maybe this is just a good day for Corixa. *shrugs* I ramble too much, but I'm certainly glad you like it!"

Oh, oh! Vampire, and short hair, sounds like me, Ha, Ha! This came out great, love the colors, especially the purples, blue, and blacks! Nice!! 1

2 Heather R. Davis replies: "Many of those colours in it, I 'spose. ^_^ I'm glad you like it, and can compare! Maybe you are actually she-- Could it be? *inno* Thanks for the comment. ^_^"

I don't know what it is about this picture but I love looking at it. I love the purple you used on her wings and just how it looks. I dunno, it's just very pleasing to the eye.

2 Heather R. Davis replies: "  Purple is one of those soothing colours, I think.. Corixa has a false alter ego (which she uses to her advantage) named Ravyne. The character is supposedly a darkly aligned seductress, and Corixa uses this as a means to spy and gain information about her enemies. Corixa herself is and has long been quite loyal to Chrishankhah. ;-) I may draw Ravyne soon, so be on the lookout! Thanks for the comment, Lala! 1"
