Tag As FavoriteComment		I'm actually pleased with the cover of the calender, aka, the last paintnig. Initially I had intended to have the characters just walking in a field or infront of a mountain scape, but thought that I really did want to show my vision of rivendell before i start illustrating more castles and less cosy looking 'hotels'.The hardest part of the painting which had me stumped for a day was how to really show of the main subject of this paintng, which isnt frodo holding the ring up to the light whilst boromir is giving him a side glance, but the actual building of rivendell. So playhing about on the computer i decided to actually make the figures part of the dark forground and just highlight the top parts of their bodies which I feel really does seperate the foreground and background .. Now I can go back and finish or redo some of the old paintings before the calender goes to the printers.
