sorry about the lame tittle, but hey . twice my normal canvas size because of all the figures. im doing some of the hobbit imagery because there is so much to be found there. and anyone reading the hobbit knows that bilbo baggins wasn't to pleased to be serving 13 dwarfs and gandalf, the 13th dwarf is in the bathroom btw, hence the stool.this pic was completed five days as im trying to keep all my paintings under a week but it was hard with this one keeping to my self inposed deadline.

great pic! very close to the word. but I don't think I like Bilbo's face, little crooked.

Another great work! I shall repeat the words of others and say that Bilbo's face does look a little off, but that is beside the point. I love it, keep it coming!

I think this painting does not capture the mood at all. The hobbit was more scared then angry. You have made the darwfs too tall and the hobbit to thin. The hobbit shoud be plumper and more hairy. I am a mere critic so if you like yor painting so be it. I do not!

Hey prof hobbits have hairy feet they doo not have hairy bodys you are very picky mabey the dwarfs were on weight watchers !!! Lol he he!

I never thought about it, but yes, Bilbo was probably just a bit razzed by having to serve 13 dwarves on such short notice. (Okay, no notice.)
Very nice overall feel to the painting. Really enjoyable.

Let me guess, this pic took some time, eh? The result is very, very good however.

Thank you, one of my favorite 'scenes' of the whole of Tolkien's works, and I think you are the first to do it, or at least to do it right.

The whole thing made me laugh because i remember reading this scene and picturing it. This picture is just so fantastic and although everyone thinks differently, i do actually like the way Bilbos face is potrayed. The commenter called professor is a bit too critical. But you can't please some so dont bother trying' just please yourself. And the pic may have taken a lot of time but 'YOU CANT RUSH ART' If you rush it, it will not be your best and you will not feel as good about it as you normally would. Brill work Christiaan.

This is amazing, I love how you pictured it. Bilbo looks appropriately thin-skinned and annoyed, and Gandalf and the dwarf leader are lost in (probably) serious conversation before the fire, while all the others are just having fun. 1 Brilliant illustration.
I'll be back to comment on more of your works, if I don't, poke me. Right now I have to sleep. 1

Nice job capturing Bilbo’s mood here. Yeah, sheesh, you invite a wizard over to tea and he brings all his friends, LOL. The dwarfs look awesome, too.
