Richard Claraval’s sculptures and drawings have been exhibited in solo and group shows throughout the Pittsburgh area. Among his honors, he won a Juror’s Award, and a Purchase Award at the One Hundredth Associated Artist’s Annual Exhibition, at the Carnegie Museum of Art in 2010. He was featured in two exhibitions in conjunction with the International Sculpture Conference, and has had two solo installations at The Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. Mr. Claraval’s artworks are in collections throughout western Pennsylvania. He received a bachelor’s degree in Art from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, in 1977.

Welcome to Elfwood! I would have liked to pick one of your other pieces that have a background as a moderator’s choice, but there are very strict rules on what can go in the SF&F section. They are all excellent Tolkienist art but have small areas of the paper edge showing. If you cut small parts off in the digital versions, they can go in your SF&F gallery.

Your work is incredible. The detail amazing. I really admire pencil and ink drawings. I love computer drawn images also but I really appreciate the time and effort that goes into hand drawn or painted art.
