Ok. First of all, let me advise you: Do NOT, I mean do NOT give up on photoshop. Your 'second ever' peice with photoshop shows more skill than my fourth. So you have a very good thing going there, keep with it.

If you will forgive, I'll lend you a few tidbits on PS, if you already know them, maybe someone else browsing through will (I came through on a tour, stayed for the scenery).
Layers are your best friends. As is the selection tools and an airbrush. I don't know if you have a wacom, but I love mine (DONT settle for the little one, the drawing area is smaller than the pad. By a lot. Hold out for the bigger pad, I wish I did) They're dead useful.

Whatever technique you are using though, stick with it. You're doing beautiful work. In fact, your style might even benefit from Corel Painter. (I think they have like a free trial of the program at their site, or they used to).

Good luck with everything.

:-) Cynthia L. Macabuhay replies: "Thank you for the tips and words of encouragement. I still use PS and I did discover the layers and it's just about my best friend on ps. I can honestly say I have become a way more talented artist and hope to update soon. And I do want to try coral thanks for letting me know about the free trial. Thank you again."

Cynthia, you have great talent, imagination and beautiful line work...the photoshop coloring really covers up and takes away from your great line work...maybe, use ink, pencils or watercolor(something controled by your talented hands) to add to it and not take away from it...I like old school art (not done on computer) and you are one one the best with a pencil. Your expressions and fantasy design are wonderful. Keep sharing your talent with the world.

54 Cynthia L. Macabuhay replies: "Thanks. But actually I’ve tried my hand with ink, color pencils, and water colors. And pretty much everything that involves colors comes out as bad as the others. And the pictures done on photoshop, and all the ones I do now (which aren’t here) I do not draw first, but I directly do it on ps. It is a bit difficult using a mouse versus a pencil but that why I am saving my money for a graphics tablet 1 I like both forms of art but real paints take so excessively long lol and I’m lazy. I do do both (traditional work and digital) and I plan on continuing so. Art is not so life-important to me and more fun! hehe. But thanks for suggesting and believing me to be talented, sweetie! 1 I appreciate it a lot! (I’m sure there are a lot more talented people with a pencil but they’re already past simple pencils 12 ) Oh and you might see more examples if you go here ainael-clm.deviantart.com "
