Hello! Um, you're really good at movement and action and stuff in your drawings. Which makes me jealous because that's hard and I'm too lasy. Traditional art is always my favorite, but your digital colory ones are pretty nice too! Christopher A Malidore replies: "Anymore I couldn't do a static picture to save my life. It starts hard, but I assure you it's like any other skill - the more you work at it the more you'll be able to do. What can I say, I prefer traditional as well, alas it's easier to get work with a digital portfolio. Anyway thank you "
I love your gallery. Looove it. Ze pencil work is quite brilliant - by the by, what do you use as a smudgy tool? Your art reminded me of what I love about fantasy, and consequently I'm actually thinking maybe I should update my gallery after a year or two of ... nuffink. Thanks for the inspiration! (: Christopher A Malidore replies: "Thanks Erin! Always a pleasure to offer some inspiration. When I do smudge, often enough I'll use a blending paper stomp, they look like a pencil but they're made of paper. Some have both ends as a cone, some only one... but they work well. Alternatively you can use something like a tootsie roll pop stick (it works!) roll up a piece of paper on your own, or even use a sleeve. I enjoy using my shirt sleeve because the fabric doesn't mash the pencil into the paper. It really works well on larger areas though - not so much on smaller. Generally though I don't really blend much anymore, I just layer and layer and layer the graphite til it's relatively smooth. I've grown fond of the textures."
Your artwork is really cool. Your drawings are very, very nice, especially the shopping zombie Christopher A Malidore replies: "Well thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the visit . The zombie is quite a favorite of mine as well."
Super gallery. My favourite piece was the Penguin Revolution. Made me want to jump up and conspire against something....I'm not sure why. But yes, excellent art. Keep it up. Christopher A Malidore replies: "My apologies for the delay . Yes that was indeed a fun picture, expect more soon! I have plans on two or so new Penguin images for this summer/fall planned!"
*respect* I really, truly hope you keep up the incredible talent you have there along with the titillating sense of humour. *bow* I've greatly enjoyed your gallery, and will definitely revisit. Christopher A Malidore replies: "Thank you, I appreciate it. I'll continue the art if you all continue to enjoy it, how's that for a deal? "
Ooooh yes, givf more art! Givf it now kkthx! *giggles* I had such a lovely time browsing through your artwork A well deserved Mod Choice and the rest is so great too! The penguin made me giggle.. which made people stare.. aah, those are the good times Christopher A Malidore replies: "Glad you enjoyed your stay! Be sure to come back and visit again . There'll be all sorts of goodies up soon I imagine, just need to get permission to put a few things up."
Your artwork is incredible. Stalking Mummy is my favorite though every picture is beyond me. I think its the over all composition of the image that really gives it atmosphere which is something no artist can fake. An astounding gallery, keep up the great work! Christopher A Malidore replies: "Composition cannot be faked, though it can be achieved as a fluke occationally - which is how I learned it, through a series of flukes that caught hold hehehe. I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit, I very much appreciate it."
Dude, I was just browsing Google for some pics of elves in combat and I came upon your place here in the woods.
This is truly awesome stuff.
Do you draw for money?
I was also wondering if you'd ever care to draw up any characters or scenes from the novels I'm writing (and trying to get published). My stories, like your art, primarily features elves (though no drow ). I would absolutely love to see my writing come to life.
Best wishes! Christopher A Malidore replies: "Well consider me glad that you sauntered on through my lil nook here . I do indeed do commissions - I gotta warn you, I can't do volunteer work right now (I'd love to honestly, but financially I gotta make things work) but if you ever want to do a paid commission - my door is wide open. Things are super busy at the moment and I have a bit of a backlog (kinda a busy season for me), but in about a month to month and a half I'd be quite open for it. Should you still be interested, feel free to email me with your ideas, worries, what have you's - and we'll get em taken care of ."
OK, someone's got talent... O.O I must say, you have an amazing gallery! I love the way you draw dragons, you make them look so real. Your elves are really cool too. The way you shade is just - wow! And you're even good at backgrounds! *sigh* You're lucky to have such talent -Michelle Christopher A Malidore replies: "Thank you Michelle, though to say I'm lucky to have such talent is a bit of a stretch - I worked for this like anybody else - it certainly didn't come naturally. Luck had nothing to do with it, I forced this out . But I definately thank you - shading is my love and really if I had to choose just one thing to draw it would certainly be dragons hehe. Thanks for stopping by!"
