Tag As FavoriteComment		History of the Doberman.  My friend David Higginbothem first drew the Doberman about 1986.  He had an all black uniform, a spiked collar, a big red "D" on his chest, and a bad attitude.  He was a part of a Super Team called "Mutant Force". Good times, good times.  Later on, my friend and fellow Elfwood artist, Ryan Byrd revamped the Doberman into his current uniform.  There is one major difference between the way(s) Ryan and I draw him.  Ryan will usually put "floppy" ears on him, while I normally put clipped, angular ears.

Very cool pic. The drool really underlined the Mad aspect of the character!

Only thing is the collar seems round, desn't look like it goes round properly. Still nice work!

Argh, he needs floppy ears. Good drawing of him though, I dunno if I like the ears showing through his hood either but eh, Its cool I suppose. Good Anatomy and Muscle work as usual.

For some reason I don't like this one as well as some of the B&W sketches in your books. Not sure why, though. I think it may be the "time tunnel" background, I'm not too fond of those usually.

I like the picture but have to agree with the commment before I would like it better without that particular background.

:-) Christopher Lee Herdman replies: "The background is just a goofy attempt at adding some color to my gallery, since most of the submissions I have up are Black and White pencil sketches. I appreciate the comment very much, and hope to hear from you again. Thanks."

Awesome idea, but that looks nothing like a Doberman. You should change the costume to black and brown markings like a Doberman has. Maybe I will make one!
