The Cover Art of a fantasy & Scifi novel I'm writing for the Wyvern Gallery. Created in Oil paint and digitally redone. The story tells of a veteran warrior being summoned by his god to exterminate his own species for the sake of all species, and the inner struggle of such a request from the core of his faith.

I hate to say this, but this piece is kinda mediocre, the lack of pupils in the eyes makes it lifeless. If your gonna tell a story by just showing the head, you need to put more details. I mean he could be a cook, or the janitor for all we know by looking at him. maybe a few scars, an ear or nose ring, etc. And with the ships so blurry its hard to tell whether they are real or a mirage. Definately not your best rendering.

Amazing. Simply amazing! I like how you (in your magnificent way) have portrayed the sense of nobility and a holy quest on the expression of what some would compare to an orc or an orog. I wih I could draw/paint/whatever as well as you can! Amazing!

i love the way you've used a rule of photography that is very seldom seen in art - depth of field, making the central character in focus while the rest is out of focus allows the viewer to concentrate on the main subject while the background remains exactley that, a background....it also seems to me that the rope is just slightly out of focus, which is the way it would be if this was a photo (depending on aperature), although i'm not sure if that is just my imagination ^_^ in any case its very well done!!

it certainly does look dramatic - a leader of orks(?) (or the captain of a military ship who happens to be of some such origen or from some world where that's just what folks happen to look like) looking very determined to fulfil his duty whatever that may happen to be - wooden space ships vernian roccocco - there's a funkieness to that context that has just wonderful charicter and possibilities - reminds me a bit of someone named scrag i think it was - whom i happen to have come accross somewhere - though he was an independent though he hadn't always been - well i'm sure this guy's got his own name and context but this immage certainly invites curiosity as to what his story might be - very good indeed - reminds me stylisticly of the kind of covers kelley freas did for analog in the 70s and 80s which is realy saying a style of quality as i see it anyway ... ~12
