SciFi & Fantasy Artwork by Cori Dietsch

Cori I earned a Bachelor of Fine Art in Design Illustration from Cornish College of the Arts in the spring of 2007. I currently reside in Seattle, and am available for commissions or hire. I will occasionally dabble in watercolor mediums, but my primary medium is digital painting due to its ability to quickly create illustrations. My primary subject matter is fantasy, sci-fi, surreal and nature illustrations, with an emphasis on Dragons and original fantasy creatures.

Your work is stunning. Are you influenced at all by Asian art? Because some of your work seems to have a similar separation of subject and background, a similar visual appeal, at least to me. I probably can’t afford anything until I have a full-time position, but do you sell prints? there are a few of your pieces I would definitely consider...

This is some great art. I like the "Bait" picture and also wonders about your elemental dragons. What are the symbol behind each one of them? I belive they have some sort of meaning...

:-) Cori Dietsch replies: "They do indeed have meaning, (to me at least.)
Nice catch 2

In that series I’m depicting dragons as deities. In many cultures, deities have some form of ’halo’ around/behind their head. I wanted to represent my dragon deities with a similar framing of the face."

You are so talented! I really love the work you have up, especially that you have multiple versions of many pieces to show the progression. I think that is really cool. Keep it up!
