| 20 Oct 2002 | Natalie Paquette | Loading...Oh, wow - I see a little "Legolas" inspiration in this one (not that that's a bad thing, mind you!). Anyway, regardless - this is a beautiful piece; I am assuming this is hand-painted? Acrylics, perhaps? ... Whatever material you used, you have an excellent knack for it. I do, however, have a critique... or... sort of a question. I'm not sure what it is. But... what's going on with his arms?! ... It looks like he's holding onto his right arm because he's wounded, but... then his left arm seems to just be going straight down to the ground for support as he's crouching. So, erm.. where'd that hand come from? It really confused me. ^-^ Helena Costa replies: "Yes... A little Legolas inspiration. It is an illustration for a friend's story which main charcater has a lot of Legolas... Tolkiens maniacs... " | |

| 21 Oct 2002 | Crystal Lynn LaBranche | Loading...OoOh I like this one too! Its the look in his eyes that makes the picture...that fierce kill-or-die look. I understand what the arms are doing...his right arm is the wounded one, it is the one supporting him. The left arm is bent and thats where the hand comes from. It makes sence when you think about it because otherwise the left arm would have had to been longer if it were the one supporting by the way his shoulders are cocked, proportionally.

However, the feeling of movement and the sense of motion and danger are truly amazing. Helena Costa replies: "LOL. Maybe because he has a broken arm, and is desperatly clintching to it so that it doesn't hang like a broken doll? Thanks for the comment!" | |
