| 10 Apr 2008 | Myriam Drolet | Loading...As always, your dragons are amazing! This one’s jaw is utterly carnal, I like. I like the colour contrast, and the clouds’ contrast: the nice fluffy clouds with the light colours, on the horse’s side, and, on the vicious creature’s side, evil-shaped clouds in a somber sky. The only comment I would have is in regards to the horse’s tail. Isn’t it too long? I fear its lenght would impede on the horse’s stealth if he, say, tripped in it. Otherwise, it’s great, praise the earth for saviour dragons, however, I would have liked it better if the bad creature were winning. I guess I like it when the bad guy wins (in fiction, that is). Amanda Anne Martin replies: "I know you are right about the Characters tail...But the now owner of this piece has a persona of this particular Equine Whos tail is extremely long. And to follow the rules of this particular contest was important.
The border between these two perceived words is the territory of the Dragon you see pictured. She is sort of the guard-sentinel. The tree in the background is her lair. That tree is immense and ancient. The only tree left in these worlds...of its kind. For Draconic generations, it has been there, and has been this particular Dragon bloodlines home.
Thank you soo much! " | |
| 23 Jul 2008 | Tara B. Ball | Loading...That’s beautiful. Wonderful detail. What’s the full title of this piece or what would you call it? I’m interested. Amanda Anne Martin replies: "Wow! That IS a good question. I created the drawing specifically for her contest. I never even considered naming it. If I did...well...I’m just not sure.
Maybe, ’Guardian of Twilight’ perhaps. Since the Dragon seems to exist somewhere between good, and evil depending on cultural beliefs, I would think that it would make the perfect equalizer, maintaining the balance of good and evil-as well as dark, and light.
I hope that answers your Question adequately. Thanks! " | |
