Welcome Craig! You have a very simple and visualy stimulating style! Please draw a dragon line drawing. Hope to hear from you later bye bye.

Your pieces are excellent! I love tribal-type markings and these would be awesome as tattoos! Ever think of submitting some of these as flashes to tattoo magazines, like Savage? Some even pay. 12

:-) Craig A. Barnes replies: "Actually, Sue. I have sold entire books of flash art to some of the local tattoo parlours here. Some are extremely well established, and one in particular has been in business for over 25 years. I've thought upon going into tattoo myself, but the business can be shady at times."

I like what you've got here. Perhaps I ought to post My tatto designs... We could compare... Have you ever worked with Vector art? Programs like Adobe Illustrator are WONDERFUL for tribally stuff. And Props for mentioning the UNI-ball... My one-time weapon of choice...

I love your art. The style is great. It's really original and it has so much feeling. So many times when you go around Elfwood you see a bunch of portraits of elves and such (like at my site) but your stuff is really original. It has a lot of emotion. Since it is abstract (and I have this thing for abstract art) I just love it....I have no talent for it myself so I envy you and I really do think you have some awesome art here. Keep it up! ~Athey

:-) Craig A. Barnes replies: "Thank you for your kind remarks, Athey. I have checked out your gallery and like your artwork as well. I would encourage others to visit the websites of the Elfwood artists who have commented here."

Interesting point you make of the eyes. I also read more into them than most, they convey every thought, feeling and emotion within a person to some degree.

:-) Craig A. Barnes replies: "I love eyes. I've had a fascination with eyes since I was a young boy. People never seem to look right at you, or it makes them uncomfortable to meet your gaze. Though, you can learn so much from someone's eyes."

You know, I KEEP on losing this page. 8 Damndest thing.

Anyway, haven't heard from you in a while, whassup? How's the happy couple? 10

:-) Craig A. Barnes replies: "Strangely? Divorced. 1 But thanks for asking. We're still friends, and we have a daughter together, so that's a good thing. She still raves about her favourite drawing by you, and I'm glad you stopped in to say hi, Mike. Thanks."

Wow... just... wow. I've been trying vainly to teach myself how to draw and failing quite miserably. (Then again, I have no patience.) If you're ever bored and in the mindset, would you consider drawing me a phoenix? I've decided that I really want a phoenix tattoo on the small of my back, but I haven't been able to find a design I like. If you're ever inclined, I'd absolutely adore you.

Also, I -must- comment on your poetry. Dunna wanna brag, but I really am a pretty decent writer, so I know good stuff when I see it, and you write EXCEPTIONALLY beautiful poetry. Wonderful, wonderful stuff. If you'd like to contact me, you can reach me at phoenix_reborn608@hotmail.com

:-) Craig A. Barnes replies: "Laura, as promised... You have your wish. I have drawn a phoenix for you as we discussed, and I have posted it here. I hope everyone has an opportunity to see it and remark upon it."

There wonderful and very beautiful! I've been wondering if i can make a request of a tattoo design, if you don't mind?
I am young for a tattoo but, the way i see it, it just gives me time to search for a tattoo with meaning.

Not sure if that email works, unfortuneately, so just to give you a heads up.

12 Craig A. Barnes replies: "Of course the e-mail tool here on Elfwood works for contacting me. Just send me a brief description of yourself, your interests, what kind of tattoo you like, and your approximate body composition and where you want the tattoo placed on your body. Tattooes are a canvas that requires more thought than just cotton canvas or paper. They stretch when you move, shrink or stretch as you get older and your skin elasticity increases, and can warp if and when you gain weight (ie: pregnancy). Just some pointers. Have fun."
