Hey charlie. i like the grim reaper. The sword looks awesome. Song of ths sirens was good too. They're all kind of hard to see though...

I really like the "Songs of the Sirens" the texture and shadowing of the man is very well done, the only thing is that in Greek myths the Sirens are depicted as beautiful. Otherwise you should try more pictures based on Greek myths

Hey welcome to the woods! I'm always happy to see new people joining Elfwood, especially those hoping to improve themselves, since that's the reason I'm here as well ^^. A word of advice, if you comment on other artists' works, they will occasionally return the favor ^^. Anyway, I paged through your works and I think you're pretty good at drawing. I do have one critique, however, and that is that almost all of your pictures are very faint. This problem can be remedied by drawing darker lines with the pencil before you scan, or, if you don't want to do anything further to the pic, you can open it in a photoediting program and hit "quick fix," that usually helps. Also, the Sharpen tool can be useful sometimes as well. Anyway, good luck with your drawings!

:-) Charlie Belt replies: "Thanks, man! I have noticed that my pictures are faint. Thanks for the advice. I'll be sure to use it in the future."

Hey Thank you for your visit, it often helps if you listen to music you like.. And (day)dreaming too. If I listen to trance I get the most wildest ideas! Keep going, you are on the right track!

Dude, none of us came out of the womb with paint and pen in hand. We all started right where you are. My advice try to draw every day and experiment with every medium.

Way to go! I'm an amateur at drawing too, and it's nice to see someone my own age in the Woods. I don't have an account, though; if I did, it would be in the Library - for one, writing comes easier to me, and for two I have no scanner!

But on to your art. You have talent, and should keep at it. I think "Cleansing", "Reaper", "River" and "Servitude" are your best. I actually think the sirens could have been drawn better, it seems as though you put most of your efforts into the man. In future drawings, consider what my art teacher told me (we are doing self-portraits this year; I was very proud of mine until I stupidly changed the mouth from decent to expressionless, failed miserably with the skin tones, and spilled paint on it 10): the left and right ends of the bottom part of a person's nose almost always are directly under the inner corners of his eyes, while the same goes for the edges of the mouth and the pupils (assuming the pupils aren't off to one side).

Good-bye and good luck, Charlie!
