Tag As FavoriteComment		Sometimes crafts collide at my house.... my husband is a woodworker and I found this piece of wood that he had discarded after slicing up a log for his own projects.  Since I had been experimenting with woodburning (using his set!), I decided to see what I could do with it. I did a pencil sketch of the fairy and then transferred it to the wood, using the woodburning tool to do the linework. I went in afterwards with woodstain markers for some of the colors and also with oil-based Sharpies. I accented it with gold embossing powder and sealed it with a clear acrylic spray.

Wow! This is really innovative, and beautiful in the bargain. In this scan the wood (bark and grain) looks almost like it was painted, so it blends really well with the actual paints. I also like the hints of honeycomb hex here and there! Wow again!

I totally agree with Bob. Even throw away stuff has not lost their uses. The theme of a tree branch and bees go to gether. Keep the imagination running.

Wow, I say...! Really creative to come up with something like this, and it looks astonishing! I agree with previously, I didn´t even realise it to be nothing else but a painting until I read the description, I truly adore this one! Talented by the least!
