	This pic debuted at A-kon 15 in Dallas. I've been doing a series of mermaids based on aquarium fish and someone suggested bettas. The female is kind of dull but the males are both beautiful and belligerent. Here two males posture for dominance.

9 Jan 2005	Azoun	Loading... I've been trying to figure out what it is about your males that appeals to me so much. Like this picture, two males locked into deadly combat, and they still look... Statuesque(sp) is probably the word I'm looking for. Perfect in every detail without being outright 'pretty'. Woot for the woman behind the pencil!

They do this funny thing where they bite each others fins and drag each other down. the winner of the fight is the one who can hold his breath the longest (cos everyone knows beatas are capable of breathing air)They're vicious! But I think you caught that hostility well in this pic.
