When your first submission gets a Mod's choice, it must be quite a challenge to continue writing. I mean, you know it will be hard to equal the fineness of your first story. Well, you succeeded - your other stories were a great read and in my opinion, you've surpassed yourself. Your writing style and your descriptions are wonderful and one never loses interest during reading. I could vividly envision the Selken Moor in the moonlight, the misty valley of Rohenthin and the sunrise over the wetlands of the planet of Tiddalik. You may be a slow writer but that's okay. I'll wait as long as I have to for your next story /Jonathan from Entmoot

Everything in there right now is old and sort of silly, but I’ve got a brand-new story on its way through moderation! Actually, it already went through, once. If you happened to check out the Mod’s Choices for Tues, Apr. 29, you saw a story called "Summoner, Chpt. 1," but the link went nowhere. That was mine. But the support team said they’d push my new ticket through a bit faster and reaward my MC, so fingers crossed! Sarah Cuypers replies: "I’ll keep an eye open for it, then. "

| 11 May 2009 | Marika Viklund | Loading...Hi there! Saw your comments regarding the new rules and the "Other" tab especially. Things that are already in the SF&F gallery will not need to be moved to the Other gallery. Only NG and poor quality works will end up there (such as your dog, a normal non fantasy human, poorly scanned things that needs some more "work" to get published to the SF&F gall.). But a non-fantasy image with a fantasy description will still be in the SF&F gallery. Hope that helped? Sarah Cuypers replies: "That is not quite what I asked about, though. I suppose I wanted to know mainly whether all poor quality work will end up on the Other Work tab, or whether some will still be declined/deleted. The updated rules about quality still say it will be declined entirely while the news-item says those works will be accepted, but on the Other Work tab. But thank you for taking the time to come to my page to give me an answer. " | |
| 14 May 2009 | Marika Viklund | Loading...Ah, I see. I misunderstood the question. Yes, they will all be put in the other works gallery. Unless they’re really bad and say, we can’t see what’s on the picture really. We’re still discussing this matter a little. Also, we do "reject" the bad quality from the SF&F gallery to the Other tab. This is to make it easier for the members to resubmit the art without needing to rewrite all the info and such. Sarah Cuypers replies: "Ah, exactly what I wanted to know! Thank you very much. " | |

Could you tell me how you can upload a story? I’ve tried Microsoft word, but it doesn’t work...Any help would be fantastic! Sarah Cuypers replies: "Apparently Microsoft Word is discouraged because it adds too much jumbled code. So I switched to copying the text into a .txt file in Notebook with adding a minimum of HTML code. On the Elfwood forums there have been suggestions for freeware word processors but while I have downloaded one, I haven’t had time yet to acquaint myself with it.
But the upload system has been overhauled since I uploaded Fabric Dragons. You now have the possibillity to copy and paste your text onto the page without having to upload files. I haven’t tried it out yet, but you should be able to find it under ’my account’, then go to ’upload’ and then select ’create new’.
Good luck!" | |
